  • Kaamelott by Akexandre Astier.

A funny take on the Arthurian legend and a jewel of France. There are 6 seasons and 3 films, only one of the films is out at the moment.

I don’t think it got outside of francophonie as it uses a lot of local slang and humor. But if you are learning the language and can understand that show I’d say you pretty much bilingual.

  • Saved just now on lemmy, a few scrolls away.

I plan to use it with friends to show them how my workout is going.

  • Not all of them, most of ATC in EASA airspace is Linux based and use electronic strips instead of the plastic paper strips.

But the foundation of the ground/ground communication is still AFTN based on x400 network (Europe used to have an X.25 network for its CIDIN communications).

The latest and newest tech for international data exchange is AMHS based on X400, often it is x400 over IP ok, but still a 50 years or so tech.

The main idea behind ATC and aviation tech is reliability and compatibility with countries with less money to upgrade tech.

  • I have one of those minisforum amd hx 370 (the x1 ai pro). Those are very powerful awesome hardware. I use the mini pc as a work computer for 3D and dev on OpenSuse and lightweight low power gaming machine (like long haul Xplane12 flight during the night).

Everything is well made and beautifully built.

As for this NAS version, if money is not an issue I wouldn’t hesitate. 10Gbs, tons of ram, Amd hx 370. It sure is overkill for a NAS, it’s more tailored for a very beefy docker server and/or virtualization station while being a multimedia NAS at the same time.

I built my own synology replacement with second hand itx parts in a jonsbo n3 case, but if I hadn’t or just had plenty of cash to spare, I would definitely go for a server like this one (my use case is NAS + docker + virtualization + eventual game server all in one).

As a side note, the "AI" part is just communication for now, those chips are not yet supported for local LLM on Linux (Windows only atm), they need ROCm support for iGPU RDNA 3.5 and the new AMD NPU integration into those local frameworks (llama.ccp etc).

It will come for sure, it’s just not ready yet.

  • I'm very juvenile

    I wouldn’t have figured myself, P00ptart

  • Yeah, there’s been an article shared on lemmy a few months ago about couples or families destroyed by AI.

Like the husband thinks he discovered some new truth, kinda religious level about how the world is working and stuff. The he becomes an annoying guru and ruins his social life.

Kind of Qanon people but with chatGPT…

  • I'm surprised your main gripe with places like LA or NY are that they're too big and sprawling and not that they're dirty and full of unseemly things like homelessness and drug use

Oh it is as well but I was trying to be somewhat positive.

I think my real main gripe with LA is the immense social fracture between rich and poor. You can see an homeless man with his feet turned black for not having shoes and right next to him a fucker trying to impress girls with his Lamborghini.

Getting to the country side to see normal life and normal people was exactly my goal, just getting to a bar in a small town and making friends because of my obvious French accent. I was there for the social part and the nature sighting (and it was very nice!)

  • I've been to many small places around Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota etc (that middle part full of nothing), voluntarily. Trying to do a road trip "Supernatural style" (the TV show, with burgers but without the monsters). I really liked that but I wanted to see real normal America, not the bells and whistles TV front.

Not to be rude but your huge cities (mostly NY and LA) sucks as a European. It's not even the lack of public transport, it's just that they are way too huge. Paris, London, Madrid, Warsaw etc are big, but not THAT big.

My plan for the next trip was to do rural Texas, I wanted to see real rednecks with my own eyes.

But... That was before the fire nation attacked. Now I'm staying in Europe, plenty of things to see here.

    • iPhone 13 mini (only ok small phone available at the time)
    • Huge gaming PC (Windows because of some games)
    • Framework 13 (OpenSuse Tumbleweed)
    • Minisforum X1 pro (Same hardware and OS as the framework)
    • Homemade ITX NAS (unraid)
    • Pi 4 with some docker containers (OpenSuse, always)

I have to sell my older NAS and Steamdeck now. The framework 13 is my new workstation/steamdeck thanks to the new AMD Hx 370.

  • Yes, and posts or crossposts are poteaux and croix poteaux.

  • Oh so it’s the same rule as in Rance.

English is forbidden and must be translated to French in the most idiotic way possible.

My favourite is probably: What the fuck = C’est quoi la baise.

  • Yup that’s what I said 😎

Without joking, yes the S is silent so if we try to think with English language accent it could be written Pah-ree. Pah without pronouncing the H, more like how you say papa.

And RI is, well yeah, ree. But with a French R, the one that is difficult to master as this sound does not exist in English.

  • French here, we say Paris.

You’re welcome guys, call me anytime for more French pronunciation.

  • I’m sad that I like a film of him, 'We were soldiers'.

But I like the film because my dad took me to the cinema to see it, not because of the film itself.

Childhood’s trauma stuff and shits, that’s how it is and too bad it’s a Mel Gibson movie 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • Oh shit my vote made 100%, I didn’t know I was the first to vote.

The Verse it is then 😁

Le Verse in my corner of the world.

  • I generally get my inspiration from https://forums.serverbuilds.net/ mainly the NAS killer posts (the website seems to be down at the moment of posting).

Then I adapt according to my local second hand market. Everything is bought from auction sites like eBay and some parts need patience to find a good price.

  • Well, I don't see it anymore either, it seems to have been removed or something?

I don't know exactly sorry. The main dev is in the ping above so maybe he'll get back with the link.
