    That was true when kids were taught critical thinking and media literacy skills. A lot of kids today are barely literate thanks to "no child left behind" and state test focusing. And, that was before the flood of tech and chatGPT in the classroom.

    Realistically, what's going to happen is these kids are going to "read" a passage, not be able to interpret its meaning. Then be told what it means from their heavily biased "instructor" with an agenda. It will amount to state sponsored religious propaganda.

    This is why christian nationalist want to defund schools and critical thinking skills. They don't want you to "think" and question. They want you to be told.

    I get that they wanted to make scouting an all gender thing. That's good.... but they probably shoulda workshopped that name a bit more given the history and context of the organization.

    I don't give af about BadEmpanada, don't even watch his content. I do like Noah, though. But it is just SO FD to be like "I don't do drama", "I'm above all this, I'm better" while absolutely indulging it in it, constantly. He doesn't do it on his main channel, but goto his B-Sides, to his Streams..... I remember him being all sorts of involved in the Professor Flowers/Vaush thing too. So he's full of shit.

    But ON TOP OF THAT, what is that title again? Is it FD stirring up more US vs THEM lefty bullshit based on race? again? And he does this all, the, time. And it's always framed from the perspective of white people as a pejorative. And look, bringing a black perspective to a black issue is important. Especially to build awareness, understanding and solidarity. It's important to raise up black voices and not speak for them.... so why then does FD constantly presume know white people and tell them and his audience that they're incapable? that they can't be trusted? that being white is an automatic disqualifer for understanding the issues and being empathetic?

    Because FD isn't trying to build a progressive coalition, built on unity and shared values. He's just there for the drama and bullshit will use racism a tool and white as a punching bag.

    It's also important to realize that Camus was writing this in response to Nietzsche and Kierkegaard. Authors who had really expanded on an popularized nihilism and existentialism.

    Kierkegaard tried to answer Nietzcsche's nihilistic writings claiming that existence persists through faith, or something like it. Basically that we continue to live because we believe that living is important, and that gives it meaning.

    Camus says, faith is dumb, living is dumb, but it's not meaningless either. It's just absurd, and we need to be comfortable with the absurdity.

    EDIT: That said, I could still be misunderstanding Camus. I have read "Myth of Sisyphus" twice now and listened to it as an audiobook playing in the background more times than that, and it's still a complete mess to pick apart. Camus' writing is so dense with similes and metaphors and he takes the longest route to get to any point.
