I can be controversial or annoying because I always require proof and facts for whatever people are saying/claiming. This has gotten me into a lot of heated debates, even got myself banned from "YouShouldKnow" for saying I need more proof of Israeli's genocide (that was long ago, got more proof and changed my mind). If I do not agree on some subjectively obvious topic, please do not assume I'm being unfriendly, evil or a troll. I do try my best to approach any subject with neutral and open mind. Just call me autistic with OCD

  • But you're living in capitalism. Unless government forces billionaires to fund social programs, they will just keep getting richer, just like it's happening right now (if we ignore the crashing markets, but you get the idea)

  • I genuinely can't tell if you're being for real. By the same logic, raytracing is ancient tech that should be abandoned.

The stuff we had when people thought Hitler is still alive on some Island and stuff we have now is barely comparable, even thought yes, they use a similar underlying technology.

Since I never had the chance to try it out myself, how was your neural network and LLMs reasoning back in the day? Imo that's the most impressive part, not that it can write.

  • Check out demoscene. The mind-blowing things they create with only with kilobytes..

  • Seriously. Your opinions and hate aside, LLM, deep learning and reasoning models are amongst one of the most advanced software technologies available to consumers.

    This post is lame

  • Does anyone have any good alternatives to glasswire on windows?

  • TIL monitors still have coil whine. Not sure when was the last time I heard one

  • I had to double check what sub I'm on because of comments like yours talking about this like it's not a meme/humor

  • The best keyboard I managed to find from all keyboards I've ever used (including high end mechanical ones) is.. 96%, keychron q6. Embrace mental disability, it feels so incredibly good

  • I paid some extra money to finally get a good USB stick that might not have false marketing around it, like 99% of the sticks on market. From the advertised 900MB/s speed, I managed to push only 110. Before you ask - My PC slot supports USB 3.2 2x2 that normally goes way faster on data transfers.

    HP 911 Pro

Not sure if I got a faulty stick or something, but at this point I'm getting real tired boss

  • This reminded me about year 2000 or so when we seemingly did not have any (relatively) serious problems and so our tax money was spent on stuff like this

  • Seriously, 40 seems like a TERRIBLE approval rating. Then again, US politics really is something else

  • Huh, I always thought Spotify is European.

    EDIT: Spotify is Swedish company.

  • 20% death rate seems somewhat normal for unvaccinated

  • How do you people share webp links to messaging apps? Preview never shows and sometimes the image doesnt open

  • There is demand, but there are no truly great headsets. Vision can barely match quest and quest has way more contect, but it's heavy and they seem to be slowly dropping PCVR support and I'm really not that interested in mobile apps, doesn't even have google earth. HTC seems out of the game. Valve might come up with something in the future, but for now it's just.. barely an improvement in video quality from my PCVR headset from like 8 years ago.

I hope China enters the VR competition

  • This sounds like another win for China. They could swoop in to further estabilish global influence and goodwill of people

  • Turning off a battery? What? Do they mean simply not in use?

  • I still don't understand why google went from "intrusive ads are bad" to basically allowing Google Play to be completely taken over by games and apps that require you to watch 30-60 second long ads to do anything. Man how I miss discovering cool apps and games. I was completely fine with watching 5 second ads for rewards, but at this point I doubt anyone even pays attention to the screen anymore, which does the opposite effect of marketing.
