I can be controversial or annoying because I always require proof and facts for whatever people are saying/claiming. This has gotten me into a lot of heated debates, even got myself banned from "YouShouldKnow" for saying I need more proof of Israeli's genocide (that was long ago, got more proof and changed my mind). If I do not agree on some subjectively obvious topic, please do not assume I'm being unfriendly, evil or a troll. I do try my best to approach any subject with neutral and open mind. Just call me autistic with OCD

  • They're close to destroying EU software trust. Everyone will just move on. Apps like Telegram who are not EU based are already spiking

  • Everyone has those friends who keep sharing you stuff from tiktok. I also happen to be pretty good with AI, run my own local models and all that (I know lemmy hates AI, but just for context..). The thing I've noticed is that by the each passing month, they keep sending me more and more AI generated or edited stuff, it's rapidly on the rise. If it has become so good only people with trained eye can spot it, how will tiktok look in 2 years?

  • I sometimes feel like the only mf around who doesn't and never used tiktok. From the very start it just gave off bad vibes, and then all the news started coming out about it rotting your attention span away, data collection and russian manipulation winning hearts of young people, which pretty much confirmed my suspicions. Ironically reddit feels like a much safer platform than tiktok.

  • I'm sure it really depends on where you live, but here in East Europe I've noticed tiktokkers slowly turning into Z'ers who start accepting Russian disinfo as facts. Meaning, it's already pro-MAGA

  • It's on a record he broke law. Can't do anything while he has presidential immunity. He won't have presidential immunity forever.

  • And yet, youtube uses resource intensive compression methods for said exabytes

  • I was actually thinking of DisplayPort since I haven't used HDMI for quite some time now, but pretty much the same thing, except for name - DPCP, but supposedly DP also supports HDCP.

  • Your new monitor likely has DRM features built in that are already being utilized by Netflix and others. Youtube is next on the line

  • Genuinely curious - how much one generation do you think consumes in terms of energy?

  • Calculating

  • I had zero reasons to suspect Israel in this, but now there is one

  • It's still more secure than password+sms/email

  • Sexual organ is whatever is used during sex. That means my tongue is a sexual organ

  • Can you elaborate?

  • I'm genuinely curious about affected people - are you able to express yourself without the use of reaction gifs and emojis?

  • "you people"

  • Article says that training o4 required equalivent amount of energy compared to powering san francisco for 3 days
