  • I manage to pee without a penis. He, pee nis. Could someone who has one explain why he can't just sit on the toilet like we do and why it would cause incontinence?

But absolutely support the right of adults to modify their bodies however they want. For any reason or no reason. Hope he gets the result he's looking for.

    Wicked Little Letters

I agree on Chernobyl it was so good.

  • That's not quite true. Medical billing here is hopelessly complicated, a universal system would likely have universal rules, and streamline the process of billing and payments.

So if a medical practice now needs 5 people to do the insurance billing, it might need only one if there was one payer (Medicare) or two if there was a German sort of system, but not 5.

It's a weekend project - I change his timeline to get them Sunday morning, so embiggen the starter at midnight on Friday, mix in the morning, bulk rise over day, shape at night, final rise overnight.

This time I doubled it and will try freezing half un-fried.

Also if you make sourdough, these cookies are the absolute best chocolate chip cookies in the world. I don't put quite as much chocolate in but no other changes the recipe is perfect

  • Breakfast Cafe con leche, sometimes with toast or oatmeal but always the coffee. Not right away, usually 3 hours after I get up.

Lunch usually leftovers from last night's supper, if there isn't any then a salad or sandwich or whatever the special is in the work cafe

Supper I cook so whatever I want. This week I have food to make one spaghetti day, one day steak & tomatoes marinated in preserved lemon and soy sauce, one day shrimp and pineapple skewers, one day halal chicken, one day beans, rice, and greens from the garden. There is no usual. Different stuff all the time.

Sometimes I bake too, this weekend making sourdough donuts.

  • More entrepreneurship. Plenty more people would work for themselves or start businesses if they didn't have to worry about healthcare.

  • No, I don't get that. Maybe you are just hanging out in serious communities?

I see plenty of silly stuff.

  • Jesuchristo, a year?

I would never advise that. It's fine to enjoy sex. Some guys are more into chasing and just want a challenge, lose interest once you fuck - I don't want a guy who likes chasing, I want a guy who likes sex with me. I don't want the first time to be the best time either. That long buildup then a letdown is too big a risk to gamble a year on.

I'm old now but still would say a physical relationship is a shallower level than an emotional relationship, and having sex soon into any relationship has worked better to find a good match and, well, at least got me plenty of sex.

Not advising the OP here (She may not even want a physical relationship at all) - just responding to the idea that it's better to wait. In my life I have never found it better to wait.

  • If you don't count investing.

$2, on a lottery ticket; most I have won is $78. Overall have at least broken even, i think, I don't buy them often, just once had a winning streak of $2, $5, $20, then the $78, all on the same numbers that came from a fortune in fortune cookie I got twice in a row in two different cities that said

"Battle the enemy as long as there is life."

If you count investing, 17k, my 401k was halved in a crash at the same time I was laid off from my first real job.

  • I am here for you! There is so much good country music, what they play on the radio is mostly shit. But like with every other sort of music, what's good is good.

    Jason Isbell

    Hayes Carll

    Tyler Childers

    Joshua Ray Walker

    Charlie Crockett

    Sturgill Simpson

The gay cowboy with the deep voice - Orville Peck

And a few I heard on the Saving Country Music top 25 this year and liked:

Charlie Marie, Mack Geiger, Sam Platts

If they are ladies into ladies - Kacey Musgraves, Waxahatchee, the supergroup album The Highwomen, and all of the members, Charlie Marie has such a voice.

AFA radio guys, Alan Jackson, Allison Krause, Lyle Lovett are good.

ETA - since this whole conversation came from some racist rant - there is a straight line from country to R&B and you can hear it in Charley Crockett's music, Leon Bridges, Carolina Chocolate Drops. Music is all related. You can always find a path from one style to any other style but almost all those paths were laid down by black people first, at least here in the US.

  • Long arm of the paw!

  • Life of Pi. My kids warned me not to read it, they had to for school. I read fast, it was a slim volume, I thought why not, it will be quick. It was quick but I want that time back. I don't get what anyone likes about it, it's unlikeable.

  • My ex during his racist abusive phase was by far the worst I've had to deal with personally.

  • We knew a former basketball donkey named Barbara. She was so very sweet. We would stop to give her a carrot or apple, she was very used to people and very old.

  • It did give me some perspective, I'd say. I used to set an alarm and take notes then go back to sleep, to record dreams, which is how I found the precognitive ones, I recommend that method if you think you don't have much dream life, I suspect everyone does but we forget them as part of healthy sleep cycles. But that one dream I can still see the tree, the setting, and remember the feeling it was like unzipping my body, not scary. We really are just ephemeral happenings and part of the universe, we are not as separate as we think.

  • LSD is the only drug I would do again, if I could. Would love to try micro dosing too.

But my trippiest experience was in a dream, not with psychedelics.

I had a dream that I turned inside out, not in a gross way, but everything that had previously been outside of me WAS me, and only what I had been before was outside of "me". It was so transcendent.

  • Of netpay? All of it. Of gross pay? About 12% is going into retirement accounts so I guess 88% is going to life.

My husband does a little better - we don't have to always use all of his pay (which is variable) so if you are counting household net pay, I think maybe 80% over the course of the year, 20% available, we used it this year to pay off renovations on the house which I would call desired improvement not just repair. So together we are pretty strong.

  • Yeah ours has the vinyl and it does cheapen the look. It's on the list. The boxes though - they are just blocks made with concrete blocks and stucco-ed.

I like some gray but gray fake wood floors are among the worst, who thought that would look good for more than 5 minutes? I don't like marble floors either. Wood in a wood color is #1, terrazzo is fine, nice tile is fine.

I do know people have different taste but don't think that this exterior or interior could be pleasing to anyone, and again the house was well over a million $. Though to be fair they had to drop it from 1.5 to 1.2 to sell it, that is still too much and nobody is building anything reasonable except people who are hiring their own builders. All the speculative ones are either straight up boxes or something like this, going into a neighborhood that was just little houses, frame or block. For that $$ I would want much more kitchen too.

  • Near 60, tried it, can do that without warming up but I do yoga. And recommend yoga. It really does help with strength, balance, flexibility. All things that help you age better.
