  • I'm small of bust, but therefore don't bra often (except at work) so occasionally get a look, I am neither flattered nor offended. I work on my body but boobs are just luck or money, not an accomplishment.

  • Woah there. I agree with part of this but so much is more a "use it or lose it" situation. I'm almost 60, husband a couple years older, we still fuck every day and I get off at least once a day still. I do think it's muted a bit, slightly less intense usually but way more multiples, so it kind of works out.

Did gain weight at menopause that stuck - sort of gamed that by starting out underweight so I'm still not fat, but agree wholeheartedly it doesn't fall right off like it did, part of that I think is my worry that if I lose it my bones will suffer, so I don't want to diet. Still in good shape just smack in the middle of healthy BMI when I was aiming for the bottom of it.

Teeth are STUPID, we should not get the final set so young.

Everything takes so, so long to heal now.

My mom said the worst thing about getting old was that you could not make plans. She planned to come up here to see Tab Benoit with a group of friends but by the day of the show two of them had died.

  • I haven't been the disliked person (surely not universally liked but widely liked so far) but I have sort of disliked a couple of reasonably competent coworkers - so not disliked because they sucked or dragged us down - just personality clash - and I have learned to ignore it because it's not predictive of how well their work will get done.

Our IT department would listen to any ideas BTW, it's getting more corporate (I joined when it was a start up but it's been a dozen years) but not to the point of being heirarchish yet. I am sort of outspoken too and have found the wild west chaos of a startup to be my best fit, may have time to do it once more before retirement if this place gets too beaurocratic.

  • I also would say Hayes Carll, in the American Dream song (though it's partly the delivery)

"Nothing changes, even if it wants to."

  • People drinking in situations where nobody would be drinking.

And, obviously, running faster than explosions.

  • By remembering how bad the past sucked. How much better off I am as a woman now, than at almost any time in the past - even if we are going in the wrong direction, still better off than even my mom was. My mom was alive for the integration of schools, alive when women could not open bank accounts in her state, we have made plenty of progress. Violence is less than 1/10th of what it was here when I was a kid.

Yes inequality sucks, because there are now enough resources for everyone. But it doesn't suck like the middle ages, or the 1930s, or any time before that.

  • I can't imagine I've read enough to know that but have always loved this one, from St Augustine, of all people.

Dance is a transformation of space, of time, of people, who are in constant danger of becoming all brain, will, or feeling.

    The whole poem is amazing.

  • Such a hard question.

Borrowed - Cafe Tacuba Avalanche de Exitos

  • I dunno about favorite, but liked reading about St. Augustine of Hippo. Really interesting life.

  • OMG this is so good, thank you!

  • My work mandated we use the copilot. And the only thing I have found it really good at is converting or extracting information from a PDF to build me a spreadsheet. The native conversion programs in both Adobe and Excel suck so bad.

I have some suppliers who won't send a spreadsheet or CSV nothing that is data, only a PDF.

It's a stupid and computationally expensive way to do it but does solve a problem for me, a problem that doesn't need to exist at all but has frustrated me for years.

Two birds, one stone. I can honestly say to my boss that I am using the copilot for work, and it's a workaround for the insufficient reporting I get from our payroll provider in particular, but also some bulk invoices that are detailed and only come as PDF.

So yes I am in this group. I've only used it for file type conversion, and once to "write" a process document just so it would be formatted in Word, I went in and wrote over most of it.

  • I manage to pee without a penis. He, pee nis. Could someone who has one explain why he can't just sit on the toilet like we do and why it would cause incontinence?

But absolutely support the right of adults to modify their bodies however they want. For any reason or no reason. Hope he gets the result he's looking for.

  • Scavenger's Reign

    Wicked Little Letters

I agree on Chernobyl it was so good.

  • That's not quite true. Medical billing here is hopelessly complicated, a universal system would likely have universal rules, and streamline the process of billing and payments.

So if a medical practice now needs 5 people to do the insurance billing, it might need only one if there was one payer (Medicare) or two if there was a German sort of system, but not 5.

It's a weekend project - I change his timeline to get them Sunday morning, so embiggen the starter at midnight on Friday, mix in the morning, bulk rise over day, shape at night, final rise overnight.

This time I doubled it and will try freezing half un-fried.

Also if you make sourdough, these cookies are the absolute best chocolate chip cookies in the world. I don't put quite as much chocolate in but no other changes the recipe is perfect

  • Breakfast Cafe con leche, sometimes with toast or oatmeal but always the coffee. Not right away, usually 3 hours after I get up.

Lunch usually leftovers from last night's supper, if there isn't any then a salad or sandwich or whatever the special is in the work cafe

Supper I cook so whatever I want. This week I have food to make one spaghetti day, one day steak & tomatoes marinated in preserved lemon and soy sauce, one day shrimp and pineapple skewers, one day halal chicken, one day beans, rice, and greens from the garden. There is no usual. Different stuff all the time.

Sometimes I bake too, this weekend making sourdough donuts.

  • More entrepreneurship. Plenty more people would work for themselves or start businesses if they didn't have to worry about healthcare.

  • No, I don't get that. Maybe you are just hanging out in serious communities?

I see plenty of silly stuff.

  • Jesuchristo, a year?

I would never advise that. It's fine to enjoy sex. Some guys are more into chasing and just want a challenge, lose interest once you fuck - I don't want a guy who likes chasing, I want a guy who likes sex with me. I don't want the first time to be the best time either. That long buildup then a letdown is too big a risk to gamble a year on.

I'm old now but still would say a physical relationship is a shallower level than an emotional relationship, and having sex soon into any relationship has worked better to find a good match and, well, at least got me plenty of sex.

Not advising the OP here (She may not even want a physical relationship at all) - just responding to the idea that it's better to wait. In my life I have never found it better to wait.
