Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.

  • George Orwell

  • I wouldn't mind certain things changing.

  • It’s not that it necessarily becomes unbearable after a week - it’s more about realizing that if you’re already struggling now, it’s not going to get any easier later. Better to tap out early than drag it out for two months just to reach the same conclusion.

  • I don't believe in free will so I always think to myself that if I was in their shoes I'd be acting the same way. It doesn't mean I have endless tolerance for bad behavior or that it doesn't affect whether I want to be around said person or not but I don't act as if they're personally responsible for who they are or that they're actively choosing to be that way.

  • In my case I just feel like I have a strong intuition about there being something off about someone. Usually I can't even put my finger on what it is exactly yet I seem to often be right.

  • Repairmen hate me!

No I don't. I sometimes even give free tips to my customers on how to do something themselves so that they don't need to pay for me to do it for them.

  • Getting up when the alarm ringsNot touching my savingsParaller/reverse parkingFinding joy in mundane little things

  • I saw a red squirrel at work today at a close range.

  • Hard to imagine anything worse than losing your child.

  • I don’t hate anything. That word seems to mean something different to most people than it does to me. I’m careful with my language, and hate describes such an extreme emotion that I’ve yet to encounter anything I’d genuinely feel that way toward - except maybe cancer.

There are, however, things people say that I do dislike. Not just the loose use of the word hate, but also trendy phrases and slogans like “fuck around and find out.” What bothers me about those is that if you’ve already seen two people use the same phrase, it’s already old and no longer clever or funny - it’s just recycled noise at that point.

  • Other than eat, no. I never got into short form media so I still have a relatively normal attention span. There's nothing interesting on my phone anyway.

  • If it's something I'm not especially interested in myself, then I'd say about 5 to 10 minutes.

  • One change I would make is to hide up- and downvotes for all users but keep the voting feature for post sorting. Ideally there would also be a powerful, probably AI powered content filter that you could tell what you don't want to see instead of just bluntly blocking it based on community/user/keyword.

  • Literally every person recommending a different mug. Guess I just don't add into the confusion with my recommendation. Buy what ever you like. They all do pretty much the same thing.

  • Exactly. I buy highly diversified index funds for a reason.

    • I do what I believe to be the right thing to do even when nobody is watching.
    • I never say things that I know to be untrue even when it's unconvenient for me.
    • I don't litter.
    • I don't accept payments off the books.
    • I don't intentionally insult anyone in real life or online.
    • I don't kill house flys or spiders.
  • At worst it's bunch of strangers on the other side of the world saying mean things to a person they know nothing about. I might lose a small part of the little faith I have left in humanity but I take none of it personally.

  • Why on earth would a business owner waste time trying to leverage such a small and niche platform? Even Facebook and Instagram feel like more trouble than it's worth. Less than 10% of my customers have found me via social media.

  • Stickdeath

No idea if it's still up or not.

  • Isn't everyone? I feel like nowdays I'm the rebel for not having any tattoos.
