Declaring the seat vacant due to someone being dead isn’t the same as declaring someone dead. Literally anyone in that situation has the ability to resolve everything by showing up and saying “I am inarguably alive.” Is asking someone in a position of power and governance to have some demonstrable level of not being dead when they are obviously fucking dead just too much for democratic decorum to handle?

That is not an argument or valid point against what I pointed out. Outline the issue, don’t just get mad that not everyone is a lawyer.
