Send me bad puns. Good puns welcome too.

  • I mean you could say the same thing about the power loom. Labor-saving technology does matter.

  • Nitpick: You (or the original creator) mean Muslim poets. "Islamic" describes ideas and the like, not people.

  • Yes it's all a conspiracy, not people who don't like Zionism.

  • Given that primaries are ongoing, this is exactly the time.

  • Think of all the stuff we’d have if we would spend money on having cooler stuff for us.

Realistically it'd just go to the military-industrial complex. As with most things in the first world, the amount of cool stuff you have is a matter of political will, not available funds.

  • You don't care because he voted for Trump, I don't care because he fought in Afghanistan. We're not the same.

  • One of the rare joys of this administration has been seeing them so incompetently mismanage the US military.

  • Mass action can scare the fascists into not stealing the election, or it can save an almost stolen election (say, by preventing ICE agents from manning polling stations). Without the organizational infrastructure to do these things you're basically stuck hoping America's democratic institutions work as they're supposed to, which... yeah.

  • The lack of mass action, or preparation for mass action, is liable to be fatal here.

  • Senators not voting for one bill, doesn't mean they'd vote yes for the opposite.

Yes, but given how polarizing Israel has become, it's likely that the ones that voted no (on a bill that wasn't going to pass anyway, no less) aren't particularly concerned with how the left/center-left see them on this issue, so it's not that unlikely that they'd vote yes for the opposite and curry favor with the Zionists.

  • No? A dictator can crack down on opposition media, for instance.

  • If bombing weddings got you in trouble in America your last four presidents would be in prison right now.

  • The ones who voted no here for instance.

  • The problem here is that Zionism is more or less bipartisan. I wouldn't necessarily bet my life savings on it, but given the number of states with anti-BDS laws I have no trouble imagining that such a law would get 60 votes.

  • It won't pass the Senate

Why not? There are already plenty of state laws that do as much.

  • Rare AI bro W. Fuck copyright.

  • It’s not possible to eliminate IP rights under capitalism.

It is. Independent artists already gain basically nothing from IP law, because they can't afford to defend their claims in court. The fact that their art (usually, before AI) isn't stolen is a testament to the fact that there's just not much money in doing so, while the fact that their art got stolen once AI hit the scene shows that the law doesn't actually stop the rich from doing this stuff. Press the socialism button anyway, but in any case it's mostly corporations who benefit from IP law.
