    Seemed related to the meme given Debian is the base for a majority of user-friendly distros you'd give to former Windows user.

    Interestingly the whole vote was pretty rigged, as a total ban would've required a 3:1 supermajority while the new rule only required a simple majority. And since AI bros piled on that one while everyone else scattered across the other options…

    Future codebases gonna be a disaster, almost no one will actually know all of the code anymore.

    That's pretty much normal all over the internet. It's a bad human behaviour heavily exploited via attention economics, of course such bad traits get reinforced. Staying in one place and thinking gets disincentivised (you might even put down your phone! Outrageous!!) and outright punished through dark patterns and antifeatures, faster scrolling and high frequency interaction with populistic takes is being rewarded with shiny stuff on your profile, Karma, hearts, stars etc.

  • Oracle's infrastructure will still have value, however that doesn't mean the company can't crash and burn for its assets to eventually be sold. To my knowledge Oracle, by now, is basically dependent on OpenAI contracts financially. If OpenAI falters Oracle wouldn't be able to survive without someone even bigger stepping in and keeping them afloat.

  • Anyone seriously debating point 5 needs help, that one is a highspeed ticket towards AI psychosis. LLMs are a health hazard for anyone battling loneliness.

    Point 4 is subjective, but given the context of how those generated pictures came to be and what harm they're now causing I'm not up for a debate about that either.

  • When cats are stressed (usually meaning they're either really sick or you've screwed up) they may poop anywhere. Also an issue with kittens who haven't learned it yet.
