Printers for businesses and complex materials still are. Look at the Prusa Pro SLX or Pro AFS (which, to be fair, is a scalable automated print farm).

Excellent question. On the other hand, as a trans woman, I can absolutely confirm strangers to apparently constantly thinking about other people's genitals. They seem very interested in all the details of someone elses sex life, yet never want to fuck. Disappointing.
As long as you make sure he can breath unobstructed. People who buy these breeds willingly and then don't even have a vet check their breathing (I know from dogs they more often than not can't breath through their nose without surgery) should honestly be treated like animal abusers. Same with Sphynx cats (though those unfortunately can't be treated to have fur again…), I do not understand what's wrong with people sometimes, is their empathy switch turned off or sth…

Then aim better and stop taking cheap shots at devs. Those with a backbone get systematically shamed and cut, the same way "annoying voices" from engineers in countries with a corrupt construction business / politics get dealt with. In IT however the damages are way more abstract while a collapsed airport roof is something tangible people immediately understand just by looking at it. And as mentioned, in comparison it's an extremely young profession lacking prior collective knowledge or bad examples. Do I even need to mention that the biggest software companies and ad companies are either the exact same company or part of the same structures (not to mention they're tight with one of the biggest governments who outright alienates former allies), so any alternatives can be systematically fucked over?
And there are Software Engineers who really try, sometimes in places like the EU where a real chance for change exists. But the ad industry and mega corps with an army of lobbyists are still fighting back, and you're not helping by attacking devs for supposedly not having backbones.
You're taking shots at those trying to deal with this shit show while staying financially afloat, then pretending you're actually on their side to immediately play the victim. You can't be damn serious.
Don't blame the dev for what the system lacks. We took millenia to get here for buildings and had rich people and politicians literally falling through floors drowning in shit before. Software is relatively new and gets extorted for maximum profit while slow-moving projects that try to do everything right get shamed (and usually extorted since doing it right entails Open-Source, which now gets laundered through probability engines). There are effectively no guardrails devs can use to protect something from bad ideas management has, and management is on an AI-induced power trip right now.
In such an environment actual buildings would also be made out of paper and have surveillance cams in the subscription-based toilet. I'd bet someone from a country with a corrupt system and lack of regulation enforcement could tell you tales about it. I think you were just lucky.

And those scumbag politicians don't even try to hide it. Here in Germany the conservative rulers and their minions recently demanded for "doctor's notice on first day" paired with a ban on notices through phone or video. They did so right after talking about how we "need to work more to secure 'our' wealth". It's so blatant it hurts.
Of course literally everyone hated that except companies led by soulless, mindless career managers who treat humans as mere annoying resources. And of course right-wingers who don't care for humans anyway.
And then there are people who simply can't comprehend if someone does not want to be in a picture. And then people who wouldn't stop trying get pissy if you point out that you have a right to your own picture by law (in Germany, that is) and that I demand them to stop trying to photograph me.

Wouldn't say that. OpenSuse Tumbleweed might got some tech debt with their backend and doesn't come with fancy stuff such as Kernel modifications like Cachy, but their rolling distro is rock solid. And for the few cases where something really breaks the bootable btrfs Snapshots come by default.
It still is for Intermediate users for sure (the installer expects you to know what you want - yet is a GUI). But in terms of stability they really nailed it, I'd absolutely use it for work horses that require newest software. Or Leap if I require binary compatibility to SLED/SLES.

You forget another cost: hard dependency (= "Soft Power"). Sure, selling uranium rods might not be as lucrative as other things. But e.g. France is completely dependent on uranium rods for their grid not to go dark, so the very few countries who sell those have a lot of political influence over them. Like Russia.
Russia had Europe at their balls with energy almost completely (Uranium, Oil, Gas) which is one reason why they thought they could get away with even starting the invasion of Ukraine. The price shock for energy in Europe was brutal in 2022, one of my best friends here in Germany had their heating bill quadruple because it was Gas, thereby lost their home and "temporarily" lived on my couch (for 2.5 years). Meanwhile France ALSO had to scramble finding another provider of Uranium rods, which are quite rare. This caused them having even more issues than Germany over a longer period of time, which sounds absurd given Germany famously made themselves almost completely dependent from Russian gas.
Right now nuclear only goes up in price, running cost and thereby electricity costs. The idea of building some new ones can really only be justified in terms of CO² output in a combined strategy with renewables, nothing else. And at least in regards to the awful dependency thing and crystal clear cost calculations every politician of any country should be on the same boat. Unfortunately a lot of them replaced their brain with various other stuff.
Possible. Though I'd wager there's also a lot of culture war and actual war involved (Russia sells both Oil and Uranium, Iran also sells Oil).

With renewables being branded as "woke" (or "western degeneracy" for the few people in Russia with access to Lemmy), political LLMs being rampant, misinformation being spread as efficient as never before, the industrial interest of certain nations to either sell their Uranium or being able to build nukes, Nuclear Power being kinda more clean than Coal, Gas and Oil at least (but hellishly expensive and water-gobbling like hell, which apparently most people didn't get the memo of), the price of refined oil products going through the roof, data centers making energy almost scarce…
