  • If you are considering naming a child, think twice about using a "cool" exotic name.

Think about your child having to visit school one day and especially girl groups will happily take any strange standout feature as a source for bullying (own experience with a girl in elementary school).

Having said that, Mathilde will probably be ok, Brunhilde less so, although it is arguably much cooler.

    It's complicated...

  • That's actually kind of a hard question, as most of the ones in common use are imports from other languages.

  • Dude, they would have been literally running around naked before.

If anything, they became more conservative. ;-)

  • Never happened with geese to me, but our local swans in attack mode got me running backwards more than once.

Hissing spread-winged furies out to kill you, or at least knock and bite the living soul out of you...

  • Me neither, before I saw the first feathered life-size replicas in dino parks.

And I have to say, they were somehow way more scary than their naked counterparts in my opinion.

So now I am Team Feather!

  • As a Picard-fan and Earl Grey connoisseur I would totally buy it for that price!Would be willing to spend even more for a Raktajino cup like from DS9...

  • Wow, you could probably make a fortune by reselling them to Star-Trek fans for thrice the price!

  • Wouldn't work, as I am already treating my side quests like my job and my main quests like my hobbies.

  • "But did he wear a helmet?"

  • Surprised Pikachu Face

  • Dude, did you ever lift a stone or piece of wood in the forest to have a look at its dark underside? All that the bugs do is to also switch colour to greyish-white and look even more nasty...

  • It's not only Claude Code, though.

Funnily the only primary(?) source I can find is an obscure German Anthropic page:

Der Name verweist auf Claude Shannon, den Pionier der Informationstheorie, und steht symbolisch für höchste Präzision und ethische Integrität.

The name refers to Claude Shannon, the pioneer of information theory, and symbolizes highest precision and ethical integrity.

  • Do they have concepts of good and evil?Maaaybee the bird, at least some birds are pretty high on the self-awareness scale.

So in this case the bird-worm-relationship consists only of pure evil-free good.

  • Sure.

But the beginning is a hen/egg discussion per definition.

And for the distinctions... There are currently about 8 billion different ones.Discussing those as if there was an absolute answer doesn't make sense.

  • Neither.

The universe itself is neutral as fuck.

Good and evil are man-made distinctions that constantly change depending on who happens to define them.

  • Thanks for the detailed description how it is handled in your area, it's actually interesting.Land protection in the US seems to be a bit more convoluted than here in Germany. And regulations surprisingly seem to be a bit more relaxed for the public (except for special protection zones, which are typically of limited size).

  • That definition fits what the Al told me when I asked it about the topic before.Seems to be similar to what many farmers here in the EU are doing: reserving some of their land for enviromental purposes in exchange for subsidies.

  • My ship stayed in harbour only for a short time, but is sailing the high seas again since a few years. What you described is part of the reason for that.

So, I will definitely give the series a try, sounds good!

  • Aaaand another entry on my to-watch-bucket-list.
