  • I decided against this idea for just that reason. If you do, be sure to wear kitty ears and tail. Maybe get cat-eye contacts too.

  • Agreed, and set it to NPR. If you make it a clock radio, you could set it to turn itself on for a couple of hours every morning to help her re-establish some sense of time, which is very difficult in hospital-type situations. And then a nurse can push the on/off button if she wants more. Tape the tuning dial so it doesn't get turned to a right-wing talk station.

As an old mom myself, I'd even suggest your mom bring her own old clock radio she's probably got, because she knows how to set it up already. Then you get her a new one she can puzzle out when there's no pressure.

(Edited to add a couple of things)

  • They were the simple round elastic ones, wrist-size. I was just so glad they didn't kill her. I actually have a pixie cut, and my long-haired children have grown up and moved out, so she must have found an old stash overnight. They used to be her absolute favorite toy, batting and chasing and pouncing, but apparently they're also too fun to bite and eat as well. So I banned them instead of her.

  • Feed this sugar bomb to the preschoolers whose parents are late picking them up. Either you'll have so much help running around picking up all the toys and hurling them into the big bin, or the parents who finally arrive will get what they deserve.

  • Does this mean the others meekly submitted? Or just that they're still running their options through their lawyers

  • The vet endoscoped 30 ponytail holders out of my cat's stomach several months ago, and if I hadn't banned them from the house she'd eat more. I bring in sprigs of crabgrass to appease her chompiness, they go through safely and keep her regular.

  • Well tbf, twitching your upper lip does make the tip of your nose twitch as well. If you have a retroussé nose like Sam, it's more obvious than with some other nose shapes. If you're 3, like Tabitha, you might have to push your nose with your finger as she cutely did. And you'll notice Endora spell-cast exclusively with her arms, as befit her dramatic nature. Sam did that too, but she knew how to channel her power through a discreet and surreptitious twitch in order to "pass" among mortals.

(Yes I have a similar nose and used to twitch along with Sam when watching as a kid)

  • Nope, my area is in the US, where it's guns by a long shot.

  • Dat's Nacho Cat!

  • Like, draw on the key and stick it in, or what?

  • Except the lighter in the link doesn't use flint or steel, it uses zinc and sulfuric acid to produce a supply of hydrogen, then it uses a platinum sponge to catalyze the hydrogen to react with oxygen and produce a flame.

  • No, Elmer's doesn't have enough fumes. I think it's rubber cement they've been sniffing

  • I was thinking Jesse wanted the D, or rather the d, but your point is well made that it's a good descriptor for the entire Stephen.

  • Upvoting this for the replies

  • Wanna bet?

  • SCOTUS will immediately shadow docket to put that judge in the cell instead.
