  • No, I know I'll be allowed to vote in the primaries. I also have zero faith that any worthwhile option will be allowed to run. So, vote between worthless option number 1, or worthless option number 2.

    On top of all that, I'm still not convinced it's not rigged from the start. Joe Biden in 2020 wasn't considered a real option. He was in 5th place and assumed to drop out shortly. Bernie Sanders had a significant lead. Then, in the timespan of 3 days, Biden was far and away the clear cut leader. I've not since that day held any faith in the DNC.

    1. This guy gets it

    And 2) Look at my alternatives. We all know trump is going to be the 2028 candidate despite that not being legal. I'm at a point where I don't even think he's going to use corruption to change the law. I think he's just going to run, and nobody will do anything to stop it. As far as the democrats go, I don't know who they'll run, but I know they'll be worthless. Probably Tim Walz or some shit.

    So yeah, I got nothing to lose and everything to gain by voting for this random guy who may not even be eligable to run for president due to not being American. But hey, laws won't exactly be the top priority in the 2028 election anyways.

  • 2008? I was lucky during that time period. I had a job, I saw the recession. I still applied to other jobs, but I put up with my shitty job I had, because it was all I had. I'm sure many lives were ruined for those that didn't have jobs at that time.

  • The thing that angers me the most is that I said to my mom "I'm never going to have a retirement....."

    I'm 42, no house, no retirement savings, no 401k, and no way to save for those things. Some weeks I don't have enough money to buy food.

    My moms response was "Oh you'll be fine! I struggled when I was in my 20s, with both of your sisters, and I turned out ok!"

    Yes, it's true that for about 5 years my mom had it as hard, maybe harder than I do. The difference is, then she met my dad, moved in with him, her money problems disappeared. She then got a better job, with retirement options, and a 401k, and benefits.

    Then she bought her own house in the 90s. The seller wasn't sure if he wanted to sell to her as a single woman. So she said "you can either sell to me, or sell to someone else. The price is the same either way. You may as well just sell now, rather than waiting for the next buyer."

    THATS the speech that got her the house.

    Today, you'd get laughed at.

    My biggest problem with boomers isn't their selfish nature, or the fact that they've had an easy life. My biggest problem is that they refuse to admit that times have changed. I CAN'T live life the way boomers did. I'd LOVE to wear a suit, walk into a business, demand to see the manager before I even fill out an application and talk myself into a job. I'd LOVE to do that......but thats not how it works anymore! Now you fill an application out online, submit it to an AI crawler that steals your data, be in competition with 500 other applicants, and most of the time never hear back.

    I asked my brother in law 10 years ago if he could get me a job at his fortune 500 company. He works there, he's not the owner, but I was asking him to put in a good word, get my application even looked at.

    He's my age, and this was said right in front of my mom. He said "I couldn't do that. That would be nepotism". I said "Yeah. I'm fine with nepotism if it means I canpay my bills."

    And my mom asked if I wanted her to storm the corporate offices of Progressive Insurance, and hunt down the CEO for an interview.

    So I just said yes. Not because I think it would work, but because I knew she'd fail spectacularly. Maybe even get arrested on a light charge. Then maybe she'd realize how times change.

    But she just said "I can't always fight your battles for you. This is something YOU need to do."

    God dammit.

  • I thought it was like 33 BCE, which counted down to 0, which is when Jesus died......and then waited 2000 years to come back as Y2K, but we stopped that from happening by updating all the computers before they caused the apocalypse. So instead we got hats that counted down to another year.

    Then a year and 9 months later 9/11 happened. And nobody cared anymore about bearded arabic guys from the middle east. I can't speak for other countries, but here in America people went full racist mode. Sept 10th 2001, if you asked an average white guy what they thought of arabs, he'd probably just shrug. Sept 12th? He's calling for death.

    So I guess the real question isn't whether he was born in 33 BCE, or 7 BCE or 0 AD. The real question is "What the fuck are we even doing on this planet, if it's nothing more then a revolving door or racism? Who's going to be the next target? Black people? The Irish? Mexicans? Jews? Arabs? The Dutch? Oh who can keep up anymore....It's all one big pile of "FUCK ALL OF THIS SHIT!!!"

    Always another day. Always another group to hate. Never an answer to the question "Why can't we all just get along on a planet together?"

  • Ya know? I gotta plead ignorance on this one. I've never applied to work for the FBI. So I can't comment on what the process is like....but never had I once considered the fact that the FBI not only asks on the application, and follows up on a background check who fucks animals.

    I don't ever have thoughts that people fuck animals. 10 years ago when the epstein stuff came out, I was surprised to learn that not only do grown men fuck kids, but it's also not even that uncommon among the rich.

    Now I'm finding out this animal fucking is a big enough problem that it was something they have to look into with applicants.

    And even weirder, they have abandoned that barrier to entry.
