  • Yeah in Florida you can only vote for your party's primary, I thought that was everywhere until I moved to Tennessee. Here you can pick the primary ballot when you arrive and vote only within that party ballot, thought it was weird

  • So they ruled they were a monopoly, but don't need to be broken up. Then called it a win in the case referenced as the monopolization case.

    I'll have to read through more of the documentation later but that doesn't sound like a win for anyone, except maybe Alphabet

  • I'll bring a couple volt meters and a couple gallons of mead.... Kroger had a stupid sale on honey so I had them drop ship 15lbs to my house and didn't know what to do with it.

    12oz bottles are 4.99, 24oz bottles are $2.32... so I just said ship 10... And they delivered the next day for $.95 cents. Can't say I've ever had something delivered and saved money before

  • Would have been nice if they went to Mastodon, but I wouldn't call them idiots. I don't use that media format, but if there isn't a lot of users there, I cant see the service being that useful to the users who do go there. It's like Lemmy struggles with niches. Not enough people, want to find something or ask someone about something, you'll hit a wall and find yourself looking for results elsewhere. Someday hopefully, but that movement from Twitter would have been a great time for activity pub to shine if it hadn't gotten skipped over

  • That's interesting. I was just checking to see if Cromite showed up there but couldn't find it, is there a menu you found yours under outside the update tab? If something as simple as a browser I use is going to be blocked from installs/monitored I can't see why I'd stay in this ecosystem.

  • What is blocking it? I haven't done much research yet but was hoping to find a new OS if this goes through. Wouldn't it be the same as putting a sim card into a tablet/laptop? Or is there something specific to your country that stands out?

  • Yeah. A Pihole can do the DNS server part. Easy to set up too. Then just set the DNS for your wifi ID, some also set a VPN on their devices to route back to their home network (or something like Tailscale) when they are out and about. Though I admit when I'm out and about I just let my VPN handle the DNS.

  • Yeah the Supreme Court will rule 5-4 that they are legal. The game is to guess who will be the conservative judge who will vote against it so every ruling isn't just 6-3.

    My bet is on B. You'll notice that I omitted Alito and Thomas because neither of them have a future that they care about appearing legitimate anymore. They will both be replaced before January 2029. Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch will hang around obviously, Roberts likely will be forced out as well. Roberts does throw a curve ball once in a while though, so long as he knows they will still have a majority vote

    This is the same principle. The account holder agreement should make the account holder responsible for the use of the service.

    The government shouldn't be parenting our minors, their guardians should be.

    Otherswise we should put digital locks on every beer bottle, pack of cigarettes, blunt raps, car door, etc. That requires you to scan your ID before every use.

    "Kids shouldn't be driving cars, it isn't safe!" Yes, but somehow we have made it 100 years without requiring proof of age/license to start the car.

    And the car is far more deadly than them seeing someone naked.

  • Its 2025, the person who had them fake electors is in the White House leading the executive branch. Whether or not that person was a terrible person, and "broke their oath" there was no guilty conviction brought upon them.

    They weren't found guilty of insurrection, had no weapons on their person. They weren't guilty of physically assaulting/killing one of the guards. So the worst possible conviction she could have got was conspiracy of sedition. Which was only brought on 12 people. All 12 were members of the Proud Boys/Oath Keepers. She was not. Meaning they wouldn't have brought those charges against her because they didn't think they would stick.

    So whether or not I believe they should have just fired warning shots then gunned down everyone who attempted to enter the building, whether or not I think she she broke her oath, wouldn't have mattered.

    If anything the very last possibility of her not receiving them was removed when Trump pardoned them all in January.

  • Makes me curious if they think their monopoly or whatever they were called cases making them split their browser are going to go though. If you are going to have to sell parts of the company, now would be the time to hammer home any last minute bad things that would make the companies more profitable. Shows higher income for the sale, and gets it out of the way so the new purchaser doesn't look like the ones who did it, but rather the ones who will make announcements on how they will review things to make them better for the user base.

    Doesn't mean they'll follow through on them, but it takes the evil and sticks it with the old owners.
