    The straights that actually would care, don't actually know what gay people look like or do other than the stereotypes. If you're not a stereotype, you could blend in pretty easy by simply not advertising your sexuality.

    Shit, I sometimes run into people that claim they never would have guessed I'm pansexual with a lean towards men, even when I am wearing a jacket and hat full of pride flair.

  • Horses in Oblivion and Skyrim don't actually go faster than running on foot. The jank comes from moving fast. If you move too fast, it breaks shit. Like, you keep falling through the world because the ground hasn't loaded yet breaking.

    I would have to guess the rover in Starfield is the same. Sure you have a car now. Does it actually make you go faster and negate the fact you are being requested to travel 1.5 kilometers across a totally barren moon?

  • To be fair, Photoshop is (or was the last time I ever used it) expandable with user plugins. If you want something it doesn't have, you can add it. Which is also one of the main draws, at least for me, to FOSS; open source means I can add/remove/change things for my own personal usage and needs. That really only applies because I know enough about programming to do it, though.

    I guess I was just the right age for having fond memories of 1 and 2, and still enjoy them now. I actually was surprised that there was a 3rd one because I was so into the first two, I find it crazy I never heard there was a 3rd as a kid.

    Proprietary shit is always easier to work with, if you're just wanting the most basic thing that software does. It's unfriendly when you try to do more than that with it. FOSS is the other way around in my experience. If you don't know shit, it won't help you. But if you're familiar with what you're trying to do, FOSS software actually lets you get into it and do all the nitty-gritty without fussing.

    Every piece of free and open source software I use is because I wanted to do something more than what a commercial piece of software would allow me to do.

  • This one little detail is why I believe Data did actually have some semblance of emotions even without the emotion chip, and that Dr. Soong was correct that emotions could manifest on their own if Data had the right experiences. It just sucks that the experience that triggered it was one that made him angry enough to try and kill a dude (even if that dude deserved it).

  • I'm sure there is, but they're unknown to me. I'm not going to fund stuff already owned and made and has a bunch of sequels and spinoffs. I'm going to find and fund something new, something that the other people with money aren't taking a risk on.

    Maybe Rogue System, if I am remembering the name right. It had a Kickstarter that failed to meet the minimum, but God damn it sounds like a bad ass idea. A space sim where you would have to actually re-route power through other systems when the normal link has been damage and basically all the stupid little jargon ideas they do to solve things in Star Trek would be mechanics in the game. If you wanted. It would have had settings for so much shit to make it as arcadey or as realistic as you wanted.

    Ambitious as hell, but the developer had videos actually showing off some of the mechanics in action and it was as good as I imagined it could be and I'm still kinda upset that its Kickstarter failed.
