  • This is what my cat does. Whenever she hears me pick up the laser (it rattles a bit) she starts chittering and looks at me until she looks around for the laser. She'll chase it for a bit before growing too frustrated. I only bring it out on super rare occasions, like every few months.

  • Vault Warden if they're interested in self hosting.

  • I do write stuff down. In my password manager so it's always with me all the time and is much more difficult to gain access to than if I were carrying around a notepad. Also, I ain't got pockets for that, and I'm not buying a wardrobe of cargo pants.

  • I don't like it on desktop but goddamn, it sucks even more on mobile. I was swiping to scroll through the stupid horizontal menu and then when I got to the bottom of it, turns out I was scrolling so fast I basically teleported to the bottom of the page.

  • Not having a safe word is maybe over the line but I feel like in general that's just a case of indulging in a partner's fetishes/fantasies. It isn't really rape if both of you consented before hand, it's just role play. That said, I'd probably also want to meet somewhere in the middle, I'd have a hard time continuing if I was being asked to stop, even if consent had previously been given.

  • Obligatory mention of CoMaps. Open source, as free, etc.

  • As always, I want to note that seafile is not compatible with existing files, you can't just point it at a directory, you have to upload them to seafile, and then you can only access them via seafile (at least that's how I understand it, correct me if I'm way off base).

  • File Browser Quantum is AWESOME, I'm shocked I don't hear about it more often.

  • Last I checked Organic Maps has the exact same UI... And the devs are great, hence the CoMaps team forking it.

  • If 463 pages sold, why does your website say 0/1000 claimed? Are you lying or did you use an LLM to create a broken website?

  • I seriously do not understand this.

    • OP claims it's just for fun, yet it isn't, as it's for money.
    • OP says they've made hundreds of bucks on this, yet zero of the thousand pages are claimed.
    • OP says it'd be "interesting ... to give people a tiny piece of a website" yet they aren't giving away anything, it's costs money.
    • "What if every person got their own HTML" but limits it to 1000 so every person cannot get their own HTML.
    • OP posts in the self hosting community, yet they aren't even self hosting the website and, if I paid $1, I wouldn't be self hosting my HTML page.

I feel like if OP were just honest about this they'd have better luck. Not good luck, but better luck.

  • It sounds like he lacked tact and maybe is just a bad therapist tbh. I dunno, maybe he'd be good for socialite types, but I feel like a good therapist meets you where you're at. I think the first session or two should be dedicated to learning about you with minimal suggestions for change. It sounds like even you're aware that more of that type of thing might be benificial, but making changes like that take a lot of work on yourself over a signifigant length of time, and a suggestion from a therapist isn't where it needs to come from, you need to come to the conclusion yourself.

That's my take as someone who has seen only two people, the first was bad and the second has been great, she did exactly that, basically just listened and asked questions for the first couple times I saw her. Even now she doesn't really make concrete suggestions, more asks leading questions that make me think and come to conclusions on my own. Tbh sometimes I just wish she'd tell me what to do haha, but I know that'd piss me off and that isn't how it works at all.

  • I went to therapy once and it was awful.

I went to therapy again and it's now something I look forwards to. That first guy just sucked.

  • I adore cruise control. I would literally sell that car if I had it. (or get a scan tool that can make that change permanant). What car is that?

  • I didn't mean I wanted them off, I just wanted to be able to tell my phone to stop yelling at me and still read the alert.

  • My main issue with Amber Alerts is that they're not mutable. If my phone is screaming at me, I'm going to hit mute before reading what's on the phone. When I hit mute, the alert is gone. It's simply nowhere to be found. I can't read it in my notifications panel. It's gone.

It needs to show up as both an alert AND a notification. It's crazy that this isn't standard (in android, at least).

  • How do I do thing

Have you considered not doing thing

Thought I was on Reddit for a second. Guess some things transferred over.

  • They were saying they were concerned about fire risk with their non-battery setup. They brought up this setup as if it'd alleviate that risk.

  • A 40Kwh battery is like 10 grand, I'm not sure why you brought that up. I'd be more likely to invest in a second battery and solar panel. It's been up for over 23 weeks right now, I'd guess a second solar panel and battery could keeping it up nearly 100% of the time, and it'd cost under $100 for a 200wh battery and 30w panel.
