  • I like watching TV shows and movies with my laptop to research and lookup info on actors and trivia about films and TV I watch.

    I happened on a little bit of TV trivia a while ago. I enjoy watching a Canadian TV Show on CBC called 'Son of a Critch' ... great show with great writing and acting ... it's simple, holky, funny, endearing ... reminds me of the 80s show 'Wonder Years' ... and it's all based on a family living in the 80s in Newfoundland ... all things I really love and enjoy.

    One of the show regulars is Malcolm McDowell .... who played Soran in the Star Trek film 'Generations'

    In the episode 'Old Friends, New Friends' - Season 2 Episode 10 ... one of the guest actresses was Alice Krige .... who played the original Borg Queen from the Star Trek film 'First Contact'

    It was really neat to see McDowell and Krige together in the same scenes in this episode .... Soran, a mad man in search of eternity and the Borg Queen in search of eternal slavery.

  • If it's just a thought and not a phrase or words that has to be translated or anything ... and an image that everyone could understand ... I'd go with the standard ...

    Imagine everyone all over the world seeing this thought all at once and everyone confirming what they saw among themselves and everyone else everywhere ... everyone confirming the same image across languages, countries, regions, religions, rich, poor, literate, illiterate.

    A bonus would be to have the alien say something in a language and voice that absolutely no one on the planet could possibly understand.

    Then repeat the broadcast for five seconds once a day, every day.

  • I do this with my coffee or plate food while walking into the living room every time

    Most short trips are uneventful forgettable flights

    But every once in a while, there is a spacial disturbance that affects the flight trajectory, or some kind of unexpected anomaly, or obstacles that have been unexpectedly moved into the flight path unbeknownst to the pilot or even large sentient creatures suddenly appearing in the flight path resulting in tragic consequences and loss of cargo :( ...... it is a sad day when I lose a fresh hot cup of coffee. One of my most tragic events a few years involved a shipment of homemade chicken soup.
