... and now we've gone and throw it all away!!!!!

  • I really think that the Q Continuum just sent her to the Delta Quadrant just to make it interesting

  • I got sick and tired of this idiot over a year ago ... I don't blame him for all his stupidity. I can only point out the stupidity of an idiot for so long before I start thinking and wondering why I keep having to listen to their stupidity. I now get sick and tired of hearing these headlines because it's the American public, American political system and American culture in general that keeps normalizing all this stupidity. They allow him to represent their country. And if they want to be represented by a deranged orange orangutan, that's their problem.

  • Star Wars .... hyper-stereotypes every racial group on the earth to live in slums or ghettos ... makes white people live in marvellous futuristic cities, lush gardens or beautiful architecture and lead entire galaxies

  • One of many posts guarding the gates of Sto'Vo'Kor

  • Who's ASSimilating who?

  • Star Trek has a show with an Irishman .... any show has an Irishman ... any book has an Irishman ... any short story has an Irishman ... an Irishman tells a story of an Irishman ... an Irishman tells a story about himself

You are sure to hear about the terrible, unfortunate things that happened to the Irishman

  • I agree, the outcome is true if those in opposition or wanting to fight fascism attempt any kind of violence .... but when the money dries up, which it eventually will, it's the age old story of the snake eating its own tail .. when money, power and wealth start evaporating, violence will come from anywhere and everywhere as everyone tries to hang on to whatever is left.

  • Back then the world was set and ready to blow ourselves up with nuclear war at any given moment and we were all deathly afraid of it (I was a kid and everyone talked about it regularly) ... and at the time we all looked forward to hopeful films about peace loving space trekkers

Now we are completely complacent and unaware of the constant war that is happening or the near danger we are all still in for global nuclear war (still, after thinking we walked away from it decades ago) ... and now we think that war, death and violence is more entertaining.

If you ever read about it ... the average timeline is about 30 minutes to 1 hour from the time one nuclear weapon launch is detected .... anywhere ... by anyone ... to full scale nuclear war. The best part is that the actual detonations will kill millions of people instantly but the fallout will lead to about 30 years of nuclear winter which will kill billions from starvation.

The reality is that this is all still possible today, we just choose to keep it out of mind.

  • The good news is that that kind of system of buying people off works great for the short term ... but eventually the imaginary money that everyone pretended was there eventually disappears and everyone gets angry because they can't be bought off any more, so they enact violent change in order to get their money back.

  • bleddit sounds better ... and it also implies that it stabbed reddit in the stomach and now they're bragging that they 'bleddit'

  • lol ... psychopaths and sociopaths with a never ending thirst for profit are surprised that infinite growth no matter how much you want to believe in it can not sustain itself are surprised when their money can't magically grow any more.

  • I had an old friend years ago who worked in a paper mill. He had been there for over 30 years in all kinds of positions and at the time he was on the verge of becoming a manager with a desk job and big responsibilities. We told him to avoid the management job and to just stick to whatever he was doing until retirement which wasn't that far away from him at the time. Management would have meant more pay, more perks, more money ... but also more responsibility and more opportunities for people to blame him if anything went wrong. Besides, he was making a ton of money in the position he had at the time. We all told him to just stay where he was and he did. He was fine, he had enough money, he had enough responsibilities and he was in a great team of people he had known all his life and he was a senior level worker that everyone looked up to anyway. Within five years of making that decision, he was diagnosed with cancer and he died shortly after. But during all that time, he was happy at work, made a fortune for his family and he got to spend his free time with his family and friends. If he had taken the management job, he would have gone through tons of stress, and probably been blamed for a dozen things and a high likelihood he would have been fired and lost his benefits. It was a company tactic to place long term workers in management positions, give them too much responsibility, and get the excuse to fire them so that the company wouldn't have to pay into an expensive retirement package. It was a high risk position.

Moral of the story is ... if you get to place in life where you get to have some measure of control and you are comfortable ... stick with it because it might not get any better than that.

  • Does that mean there is a data copy somewhere where we can ... um ... review the footage?
