Indigenous Canadian from northern Ontario. Believe in equality, Indigenous rights, minority rights, LGBTQ+, women's rights and do not support war of any kind.

  • It's human nature ... the vast majority of people are very decent tolerant people.

It's only a very small minority of the population that cause a lot of problems .... and usually they're the loudest most obnoxious a-holes. They are usually the ones who sway large complacent groups to follow them.

It's only a few people in our world that cause us not to have nice things.

  • Something's about to happen

  • lol .... [EDIT: I'm talking about Indigenous Communities in northern Ontario in Canada - First Nations] ... this kind of negotiation sounds a lot like government meetings we saw as kids and teenagers in the 1980s and 1990s when our northern Ontario communities started speaking a lot more with a lot more expertise at the time. In the 60s and 70s the advocacy was just starting and our Chiefs couldn't say much because they didn't really know how to deal with government who held all the cards and rules, regulations and legalese to say and do whatever they wanted. It wasn't until the 80s and 90s that our people started having enough education, expertise and knowledge to be able to fight back against government with their own legal language.

EDIT: sorry for the confusion in commenting ... I was talking to and commenting with family and friends on other political events happening in my area with First Nation governments and our provincial government in Ontario.

  • The Inquisitor!

  • Commodore 64 ... Same here .... but it was with a family friend that I went to visit often ... every time I saw them, we spent hours on their system. I remember sorting through all the ASCII characters to try to make a drawing on the screen ... hours and hours of tip tapping to find the right character for the flag of England I was drawing.

  • Does this mean we are trying to aim for the darkest timeline?

If so, I'm looking forward to serving under Evil Abed

  • MY EYES!!!!!!! ..... HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO LOOK!!!!!!! ....... IT BURNS!!!!!!!!

  • Up to now, the incompetence has met with loss of money, inconvenience and quite a bit of fear and uncertainty.

The longer this incompetence lasts, especially now that hurricane season is about to start ... expect this government incompetence to start costing lives ... lots of lives. Not just from the immediate consequences of serious natural events happening but from the lack of or delayed or mismanaged actions that will happen when relief and rescue efforts will be required to saved lives.

Everyone shrugs off the stupidity right now because it isn't hurting or killing people .... that's going to change in the next few months and expect the US to start getting severely damaged and destroyed, with no help or adequate recovery in sight.

  • Are you kidding? Dad could have his jacket torn off by hurricane force winds and he'd still be rocking that hot pink T-shirt to block the rest of the storm.

And his son could survive a cold front on the north face of Everest with a hot jacket like that.

  • The end never sounded so catchy

  • Future alien archaeologists studying our ancient cities and remains of our civilization .... "I wonder what caused them to all die out so suddenly?"

  • valor

    Jump
  • That was part of military doctrine back then

You'd run onto the battlefield and when you saw some guy with a big feather hat, puffy shoulders, a dress, bright colours, fancy dress shoes, garters on their legs covered in tights ... you'd break out in laughter and roll around on the ground as Mr Fancypants stabbed you.

  • Are you governing a country by chance?

  • That's the thing and something I've noticed for many years and in meeting many Americans.

The majority of Americans I've met in person were good wholesome people and most of the time I couldn't tell the difference if they were American or Canadian (unless they had a strong accent from the American south).

It's when you start talking about politics or religion that things seem to fall apart. There's a strong Christian 'identity', it's certainly not religious ... cult like but not religious.

But in the mix are good natured people with good natured ideas of politics and inclusion .... but the loudest most obnoxious ones always seem to win out.

I've done my best to not paint all Americans as selfish, ignorant, self absorbed, hateful individuals .... but in light of everything that is coming out of the US government, which should represent the ideas and attitudes of a country ... it is getting harder and harder to like America or Americans.

  • Everyone likes to laugh at Turnip and Muskrat for being, talking and acting like idiots ... which they are ... but enough of a country voted to have this clown in office, who then selected this unelected monkey to run their country.

Who's the idiot in this scenario? The idiot doing idiot things .... or the people who made it all possible and allowed the idiots to gain power?

It's going to take a lifetime for me to look at an American as anything ressembling intelligence.

  • Nothing like meth to make you think that invading Russia was a good idea

  • The best part to all this is their belief in an afterlife in heaven where you never have to worry about your health, your food or your shelter ever again .... an absolute communist hell hole.

They deny any humanity in this life because they believe in a humanity that will never happen in an after life.
