  • The origin story of why that genie got stuck in that bottle for 2,000 years

  • Served al dente

  • Here's a condensed version of all the books ...

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.

  • It's a good thing people don't act like that any more /s

  • burns his hand on the hot mug .... CALAIS!!! SACRE BLEU!!!!

  • Just because they have mandatory French in Canada ... doesn't mean that people go on to learn the language. I'm in northern Ontario among a lot of Francophones. Lots of people went through school around me that had French but they went through the programs and never bothered to learn beyond that and then forgot it all as adults because their families looked down at the French language and French culture.

Many people don't get to go to post secondary school unless you or your family have a bit of wealth ... so they don't bother learning another language for any reason. So being poor and from an anglocentric culture that looks down at other enthnicities usually ends up with people not learning or wanting to learn another language.

The sad part is that I'm Indigenous Canadian ... my first language is Ojibway/Cree, it was the first language I learned and spoke fluently until I was about ten years of age - I learned English in school but it was more or less a foreign language to me until later in life. The sad part is that this was all about 40 years ago and now the majority of people being born into my family almost all of them speak only English and know little of our Ojibway language.

When you are poor and don't have the means ... you almost have no choice but to get stuck in one language because you don't have the time, energy or resources to have the luxury to learn another language and poverty has the double edged sword of taking away any language you or your family already had.

  • lol ... imagine the insults to federation captains ...

Statlursa: ... HEY! ... HEY YOU IN THAT SHIP THERE!!!! ... WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO START FIGHTING?!!!

Captain Picard: ... WHAT! ... You attacked us first and we've exhausted all our torpedoes and cannons and our shields are down and our warp core is about to explode .... fight!? ... we've been doing that for the past hour!!!!!

B’Edorf: .... OHHHH!!! ... IS THAT WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DOING?!

  • Flesh

  • How many languages do you speak?

Most North Americans are shocked that a human can learn more than one language

  • A glacial ice sheet has formed over Highway 17 and it is now 100 feet deep and compacting at the bottom into solid ice ... all animal life is freezing to death in the minus 60 degree weather ... but if you're careful, you can still make it to Walmart before closing

  • I'm in northern Ontario and no matter how terrible and blinding snow it is outside ... we'll still have people on social media in our area asking things like ... 'How are the highways today? I want to go to Walmart'

It will be rain, sleet, snow, solid ice on the highway, blinding snow, no visibility and there will always be a dozen people asking .... 'How are the roads? We need to get to grandma's for a party'

  • Hunger is a normal part of life .. I keep trying to remind myself of that

Just because you are hungry, it doesn't mean that you are starving or dying ... sometimes it's just your dumb greedy biological system wanting to eat everything in sight because it still thinks that you live in the African savanna and there's no food around.

I grew up poor and as a kid, hunger was just a normal part of life. We weren't starving, mom and dad gave us enough nutrition every day to be comfortable but not to live in complete luxury where we could eat any time we wanted. I remember wanting snacks during the day and there were none ... so you just drank some hot tea to satisfy the craving and then went on with your day. By the time we were teens, we were lean, built and none of my friends were overweight (this was in the 80s and early 90s). It wasn't until we all had free access to cheap snacks and sugar water that we all started having problems with our weight. I'm middle aged now and I constantly have to battle my urge to want to eat any and everything in sight.

The best part of this comment is that I'm snacking on a tube of pringles as I'm writing this.

  • Usually when I meet people who say they travelled to Europe ... I'll ask them a million questions about what they did there, what they saw, what they thought about it, the food, the weather, the people ... which places did they go? what are your recommendations? what did you like? what did you not like? any weird things that happened? any great things that happened?

It's usually a source of a ton of information.

Hell of a lot better conversation starter than to ask the person what they've done in the small town you've both lived in all your lives and know every single detail about.

  • Hours and hours of spare time working as an engineer and endless access to a ship's computer, so much data storage, devices, holo programs, simulators and digital systems ... inevitably he's going to end up doing some freaky stuff.

  • Every episode just immediately jumps into whatever world that O'Brien created in the simulations where he keeps every buffer clone trapped forever .... sometimes it's on DS9, sometimes on the Enterprise, sometimes on a Borg ship, sometimes in 19th century Louisiana, sometimes 23th century California, sometimes ancient Rome, sometimes on Kronos, sometimes on an ice moon, sometimes just free floating in empty space

  • lol ... sounds a lot like the evangelical preacher with the million dollar private jet who asked his parishers to give more money to buy a second jet because it would save more people

(I remembered this story from a few years ago and thought it was 'a second jet' ... I was wrong ... the preacher was asking for donations to buy his FOURTH JET!!!)

Trump isn't running a country .... he's an evangelical preacher leading a ministry called the United States
