I mean, yeah probably. Not some interconnected thing just a different world with different rules than we play by.
If I had to guess one thing based on this, I'd say climate change. As in the writing is on the wall, and everything happening boils down to power and money preparing for the end of civilization as we know it.
I was reasonable years ago. Now that we're here, I honestly don't have a lot of sympathy, sorry.
Edit: Also, way to take the advice given and write if off due to sheer stupidity. Of course the advice has to do with taking care of your family. Which frees you from using taking care of your family as an excuse to not do anything.
Fucking goddamn Americans. Sorry but it's an absolute nightmare sharing a border with you guys.
Everyone is in at a certain point. At least decide now what the point is that you'd be in, so that when it hits you know it's time. Otherwise you're another frog being boiled and never noticing.
Ie. If the point where you join the solution is "the president is an incontinent, narcissistic rapist pedophile", then you would have already been fighting a long time ago.
Is it "when they're at my door trying to take my kids"? Hopefully not quite that late. But somewhere between that and "the US has literally been taken over by a gang of fascists and oligarchs" there's got to be something that hasn't happened yet that will get people going....
It's not "innocent US citizens being murdered by federal agents". It's not "literal concentration camps holding legal permanent residents". Only you know what it is.
....uhhh exactly because of people like you with attitudes like that??
YEAH BUT TELL ME HOW
Jesus Christ, everyone's life is different, put on your big boy pants and figure out what that looks like for you.
Edit: Technically they did say "what exactly". So I guess I'd start with stockpile a decent amount of food ("I can't afford to miss work, I'll starve"), think about growing even a handful of edible plants, change your diet to be more modest/cheaper and save at least a bit of the excess in inflation hedges, start supporting farmers markets which can often be competitive with grocery stores. Get to know your neighbors better. Find out who is good at what and trade favors. Learn how to sail the digital high seas, use that extra money to prepare as well.
For starters, building a position for yourself (if you can) that makes it so you don't, like almost every other American, say "I can't do anything about it, I have to take care of myself and my family".
It's about future generations. It has been for a while.
Uhhhh this seems to imply that the fuselages aren't normally checked for cracks.
You know, I honestly was never afraid of flying. But the older I get, and the more damage capitalism does, I'm starting to think I'm not prepared to trust anyone to do their jobs properly anymore.
All the families should be going to the media.
It's really funny how much the US is turning into North Korea.
