  • Are bread machines worth it? I've always considered one but im just not sure if it's worth it. Is it still a lot of work to make a loaf?

  • Thanks, this is exactly what I am going for. I feel awful since she makes me feel like I'm abandoning them and deep down I sort of think that. But the truth is for years now she has drove me to the brink with nonsensical arguments, and finally just stopped paying her share of the monthly bills for about a year now with me begging for it and has now lead us to bankruptcy. I say whats the point at this point, im not sacrificing my retirement or future for this. My friends and family all agree and of course now that this is happened they all had felt negatively against her but kept it to themselves. It makes me feel better knowing it's definitely not me. I have always wanted to live closer or in a city and thats my plan after this. I will absolutely be living the life i wanted and make up for the time i lost (16 years). My friends are already putting together stuff to celebrate haha.

  • Im grateful I was finally able to commit to getting a divorce. Took over a year of holding out before coming to this conclusion. Im optimistic I can have a better life once this is all behind me. Sadly im sure this will be the hardest year of my life at the same time. I know ill be so much happier once its over. I used to have an amazing life before her, also with her for several years as well. Once it got to kids and money and disagreements though everything fell apart. I can't wait to do all the things i never got to or expected to like some traveling or random trips or just going out whenever I feel like.

  • It's because it keeps track of either all previous passwords or like a certain amount back. So you definitely used that one at some point, it just wasnt the one you used now.

  • Its no longer relevant anymore either. You cant even make a movie in the amount of time where people still care.

  • Thats because they don't really change much of anything and if they do they take entire generations to commit. Even if they were considering AI it would take them at least 5 years before we heard or saw something. Take their online experience. It's still a shitshow compared to others and it took them nearly a decade over the others before providing anything at all.

  • Nah, i dont think they are that worried. They are already in full gerrymander mode right now to get ready for it. The other option could happen, but that one will really have people looking so I am sure they would rather avoid it as much as possible. Its the nuclear option.

  • As open as i am with sexuality and how this sounds awesome on paper, I don't even think I could bring myself to stopping by one of these just out of anxiety. It's just not the mindset i want to be in when getting something as simple as a coffee lol.

  • My wife's father. He committed suicide back in 2019 after a few years of him getting more and more distant and depressed. Of course it is a gamble since we do believe it was his brain deteriorating kind of similar to what Robin Williams had, but at the same time i also believe he was kind of miserable having to deal with his family's problems which consisted of his 3 daughters and his wifes issues. A week after he passed his wife was then diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and she also passed within 3 months as well. It was a crazy year to say the least. I just wonder so much what he would have done if he was alive to see his wifes passing if that would have changed his decision because i really feel like if he knew he no longer had to take care of her he wouldnt have had to worry so much about living out his life in fear of running out of money anymore and that he may have finally been able to do what he wanted to do which i think he felt trapped.

  • I basically haven't used my multiple external cd dvd drives in years, but i will not get rid of them for the just in case factor. Speaking of my father gave me a handful of live music cds he wanted me to rip so it will get some use very soon.

  • Just curious how you think this will impact performance? Reading of a DVD or CD would not be a nottleneck due to what USB interface used, its always going to be the device its self so it really doesnt matter at all. If anything props to them for at least updating to the latest to maximize compatibility.

  • Yeah, I would also like to know more on how bitlocker screwed him. Like was it a legit problem or that the device died and didnt have the keys to decrypt it? If it's not keeping the keys somewhere safe, which it even makes you do by not allowing you to select the local device, then idk how the blame is microsoft is shitty. Need more info though.

  • That's a crazy amount for a spice that mostly adds coloring. Thanks for the info, I don't need to try it then haha.

  • Is saffron really only for coloring? I never really used it before but i just assumed it added more as a taste as well.

  • I keep wondering what happened to Emby as well. Back when I started this it was only Plex and Emby and I picked Emby and brought the lifetime pass for like $100. Still use it today and works great. I tried using jellyfin a year ago just to see what the fuss was about and to also create another service to handle my 4k content locally and I wasn't a fan of the UI as much as Emby (Emby isn't the best either). I also had weird issues playing some stuff and gave up on it. I'll stick with my Emby and Navidrome setup, they don't track me or need more money outside the occasional donations I will throw them since I'm sure they don't make much.

  • When the lockdown happened and we got our first taste of WFH ever it was interesting. Then they tried bringing us back a few years ago with the start of 2 days and wanted to go to 3. By this point people were pissed to be there. What didnt help was we got so used to just doing teams meetings from our desks that even though we were now all in the same building we still just did those meetings at our desk. We screamed to ourselves why are we even here! Thankfully our company downsized and let a building go and consolidated and realized there wasnt enough room for everyone so a lot of the non essential on site departments like mine got sent back home and now I have only been to work like twice in over a year.

  • Whats the purpose or point to prove on that one? I can get not eating something thats slaughtered, i can even get milk since the practice its self can be done in cruel and bad conditions, but using sheep for a renewable resource sounds a bit much. From my understanding we also messed them up by selective breeding and they have tp be sheared otherwise they will overheat if left alone sadly. Again its an issue we created, but they exist now so not taking care of them sounds awfully cruel as well.

  • Gene Hackman did not die from it, only his wife did. He was not able to care for himself or know what happened due to advanced alzheimers disease and ended up dying due to sever heart disease within a week of her death. The variant on the cruise ship most likely wasnt the same since only 1 version of it is transferrable human to human and is even rarer. The cruise ship wasnt even the problem, they believe the couple who originally had it got it before the cruise and then showed symptoms only after the cruise began. It seems like they are taking it very seriously so I don't really think theres a reason to worry about it, unless your actually one of the people on that ship.

The scariest part to me is the 30% mortality rate.

  • Wow, i have definitely seen those over the years and never really thought about what it is at all. Crazy to see its a ladybug. Never would have thought that.
