I offer absurdist edits of absurdist Heathcliff comics, make food, post political memes.

  • It'll taste more like bacon. Fat free vegan bacon.

  • You could do carrot bacon alternative. Carrot peeler, soy sauce, brown sugar, paprika, maybe some liquid smoke. Use the peeler to make strips. Dip. Bake until crispy.

  • I grew up Italian so olive oil was the default. But butter was still essential.

  • Sorry. Cucumber is our default and I was eager to get the post done and eat and didn't consider changing the default name this time. But I think most people can figure it out.

  • I used this recipe but reduced the amount by half. I might be tempted to add a pinch of MSG in the future.

There are other versions where you cook the tomatoes down in a pot to evaporate enough juice to almost get a paste and work from there.

    Some even skin ghd tomatoes.

You are going to want to make sure your ghee to be between liquid and solid. So refrigerate accordingly.

I start to panic if I don't have at least one pound of butter in the house at all times. Some kind of trauma response from childhood?

  • Yes. Sorry. I was busy eating while typing. That's our standard L replacement. Better than lettuce. And these days it is safer too.

  • I'd love to try the maggot cheese. I used to have more access to moldy cheeses but not anymore.

  • Nearest "deli" is Walmart, 7 miles away. I traveled just 1.2 miles to save gas.

  • It's a little more than one. And these days there are ones that aren't cheese at all.

This one was on the shelf right next to it.

Water, Food Starch, Palm Oil, Modified Food Starch, Milk Protein Concentrate, Salt, Natural Flavor, Sodium Phosphate, Carrageenan, Stabilizer (Xanthan, Locust Bean, Guar Gums), Sorbic Acid As A Preservative, Lactic, Acid, Artificial Color.

  • I will pretty much take any version other than this. Normally I make the bread and use cheddar.

  • On the outside. Instead of butter.

  • Mayo. You gotta use mayo. I was skeptical but after trying it I could not deny its results.

    Grilled "cheese"

  • Excellent idea

  • Occasionally I'll also do something like make a burrito in a jar and can that. I'll pop taco seasoning, chunks of meat, bell peppers and onion into a jar and do a raw pack pressure canning on it. When I want a juicy meaty burrito I popped the can open, heat it up in a pot and put it into a tortilla. Then again sometimes I'll serve it over rice.

  • A 1 lb bag of beans and a one pint can of beans weigh about the same amount. As for storage, one of the first projects I undertook when I moved into my house was to make sure space would not be an issue. I built myself some custom shelves.

  • For canning I do a oil for 5 minutes and then hot soak for 45 minutes to an hour depending on the bean. Then I put them in the jar with a little bit of room for expansion. Then I fill with boiling water leaving 1 in of headspace. Then I can pints for 75 minutes after all the venting and bringing the pressure.

  • Definitely. Gotta plan one day or two hours in advance.

  • I do those too.

Beans, enchilada sauce, cheese. Sometimes homemade tortillas.

  • As am I. But these aren't those. This is a giant spicy beef, a both a chicken and beef chimichanga. They are on another level from mini micro burritos.
