  • Semiosis and Interference by Sue Burke were my last two, but while interesting they didn't go in the way I thought, and it feels like there's a big hunk of... I hesitate to say wasted, but certainly unrealized potential. At the same time I feel like my expectations or preconceptions about what could or ought to happen are causing me to miss the point that Burke is trying to make.

I have so far bounced off the third and final entry in the series, Usurpation, but I have faith in both it and me and will take another crack at it soon.

  • That's certainly a strong entry in the series. Hell, maybe it's time I gave it another go.

  • Mellon Collie & the Infinite Sadness.

It is not to my tastes anymore, but at the time when I was very swept up in it, it was truly an immersive and transformative experience. As a piece of art, I feel that it was a tremendous success.

  • It is one of Richard Wilbur's best poems, and since it's so accessible, I often use it to introduce students to poetry as an art form.

  • Star Wars, Marvel movies, basically film in general. Goes for TV shows too.

It wasn't until my mid-twenties that I concluded that video is just not an entertainment medium that works for me. I tried really, really hard to like it, and I gave all of the really popular films or TV shows or even YouTube videos a fair shot.

  • We? Speak for yourself. I'm not going to lay eyes on any of it.

  • No.

  • She would certainty nor say that simple and clean is the way you are making her feel.

  • This just sounds like what the rich are doing already. Maybe they're the time travelers after all.

  • I know DeathByBigSad's life story and internal turmoils better than my own at this point.
