I don't read DMs.

  • The problem isn't age, it's entrenchment and corruption. Being old in office is a side effect, not the main problem.

We need term limits for Congress. If we had term limits, the only way an old person could get into office is if they were voted in when they were old. Being old doesn't necessarily make one incompetent.

Congress makes national policy that affects all of us, but only a few people in each state vote for or against them. There should be some safeguard against them remaining in office for decades.

    Term limits for Congress.

  • I have no idea, I never see ads, apart from when I'm shopping online and can't avoid them. Then, I treat the online store the same way I treat a brick and mortar store-get what I want, and get out. No browsing.

They probably have a pretty accurate model of me, though. They know what I buy.

  • "Oversized" and "cheap" are relative terms.

Also, not everyone obsessively buys and hoards crap they don't need. My kitchen cabinets are half empty, because I don't buy things like air fryers, and bread machines, and food dehydrators, or whatever the latest single purpose cheap appliance is.

  • The super-thin tapes are the worst, can't even feel the edge.

I never remember to fold the end over, either. That's a future-me problem, like a minute from now.

  • Nintendo has become an awful company.

    Stop supporting them.

  • I get listening to music in the shower, although I don't. Watching videos while taking a shower? Maybe while taking a bath.

But, really, you can't step away from media for a few minutes a day for some peace and quiet?

Suffering through being alone with your thoughts is the first step toward better mental health. Your issues don't go away if you ignore them, they just get worse. You know this, so make an effort for yourself.

  • Capitalization between sentences is needed because the period is so small. Or, the period can be small because we use capitalization between sentences. If we changed the symbol for the end of a sentence we could stop capitalizing the first letter of a sentence.

Maybe that will happen someday, but not soon.

If the point of written language is for the writer to communicate effectively, it's important to follow the current rules, as you have.

  • We switched to phones out of convenience. They took decent enough photos so why carry around a separate camera? That's the only reason we switched.

  • And, Republicans can be trusted to do the worst thing for the people they supposedly represent.

  • They forget the part where you need to be filthy rich to get away with this.

  • He realized Microslop was going to let Xbox sink, and didn't want to go down with it.

  • It's pleasant here at the moment. 35/95 and 20% humidity. Small thunderstorm passing through.

  • Next stop, hooking it up to the pool.

  • Give that thing a wide berth. Brushing past it is insta death.

  • Wouldn't the furnace need to run to push air past the filter? I feel like not many people are running their furnace in the summer.

  • You can buy a full, real human skeleton for about $7,000. Since real skeletons don't stay intact once all the meat is gone, you could just drop a pile of bones in the bottom with a large pile of diatomaceous earth. That would give the local forensic team something to do.

  • I feel like I read a few years back that aggressive suppression of wildfires leads to more and bigger fires.

The fuel piles up and eventually something sets it off, then there's no stopping it.

  • I can think of a couple of different motivations for this.

He's trying to get ahead of a leak that he's gay.

He's trying to help reduce pressure from employers, in a very odd way.

I'm going with the first one, because people in power don't give a fuck about anyone else.
