  • I have to disagree with you on the Cisco stuff. It absolutely teaches you foundation networking.

  • I think you should read your link again. It clearly says 720 is "HD".

"HD Ready" was a marketing term that was sometimes used for things that were both 720 and close to 720.

  • Honestly, I stopped trying to understand them after 1080.

I've worked on broadcast for over a decade and up until recently is been almost exclusively 1080i that I've dealt with.

  • Chef John is purely videos of recipes. He never did 40 minute episodes about which salt is the best.

  • It still is.

    720 = HD 1080 = Full HD

Then I think there's UHD, before they start labelling them as shortened numbers like 8k

  • I think the joke is that alchemists believe they could turn lead into gold and a primary ingredient was urine.

In fact, a lot of Alchemy involved using piss for things.

  • I'll be staying with win10 ltsc on VMs for as long as I can manage, but most are on a flavour of Linux

  • Anyone who yearns for their life as child has developmental issues. I'm not trying to say that as a sick burn, I think it's honestly sad and source of suffering for some people.

  • So, about that asshole thing...

  • To clarify on this, there is no possessive apostrophe with 'it' like their is with nouns. "Its" is a possessive pronoun like "his" or "hers".

  • There are plenty of people who worry about being an asshole and end up never standing up for themselves. I don't think it's as simple as "if you're worried you're the asshole, you probably are".

  • You had to pay to play online on Xbox a decade before that. It was free on PlayStation. When they changed it I just stopped playing online.

  • A private company who's entire use case is facilitating streaming pirated media. The only time Plex blocks or exposes it's customers is the time the company completely implodes

  • Looks like a car you'd see in a Final Fantasy game

  • The number itself won't matter, but you'll see it increment in real time if they lie

  • You're allowed to be sick more days, they just won't pay you for it.

  • Movie licensing is legally different to running a game platform. Are there any examples of games being removed from people's libraries?

  • I've seen a colleague write an API interface for support technicians with AI. As he adds to it or makes changes, the AI breaks something somewhere else. When you ask how to do something he struggles to find where it is on the interface. He says it should be in the documentation, but he doesn't know where because he vibe coded the documentation as well. Then when he needs to just incorporate extra devices with the same API it becomes a gauntlet because he's not sure what the AI did for the first set and the new set only gets half the functionality. On top of that, we are running days behind schedule because we spend so much time on debugging it.

If this was done properly from the ground up it would be less messy, have more intent, and it could be a framework for other projects.

  • Did you include "don't make mistakes" in the prompt? No? Rookie mistake bro.
