  • My daughter 🥹 I thank my wife all the time. It was something we both wanted, but I am infinitely grateful ❤️

  • Thanks, found some new communities!

  • I am a tech lead with 10y experience, can code perfectly fine

  • Various project in my spare time, and I would like to keep up with the tooling and models. I find a lot of use for it in my spare time, and find it interesting to experiment and learn. I know a lot of people are super skeptical. It does not live up to the hype, but it is genuinely useful for me. I find that adding very strict guardrails makes them perform quite well, and be useful.

  • I just use my toe knife, and jam it up there to get the gunk out

I am cishet without experience here. This is what I would do. Might not be perfect, but most things is okay if there is lots of good intentions and love 😊

I would be honest. You are allowed to have feelings and be conflicted. You are however not allowed to make this about you. When talking about it, be careful and sensitive. Anger or denial should be suppressed. Talk to someone else if you feel that way. Your role is not to stop it, but to stay close and be loving. Do not ask too many questions about "Are you sure? Maybe its just a phase? etc". Your long term relationsship depends on how you handle it. Handling it perfectly is less important than showing lots of love and support.

"I support you and love you no matter what"

"i might not react or handle everything correctly, but want to learn and support you"

"Does this mean there might not get grandchildren? If so, that's a shame, but not the end of the world"

"I am unsure how I can help you make the right decisions for you going forward, is it okay if I suggest seeing a therapist to help you navigate this? Not to stop you, but just to help you find out what you need."

"You can talk to me about anything, I might not always understand, but will read about it and try to educate myself"

Edit: Grandchildren part is probably best to skip

  • Theres nothing better, they have a monopoly. Everything else is going to be a huge downgrade.

So to ease me into something that scratches that itch, I am asking for alternatives. Something interesting I can learn from during breakfast with my wife. Unfortunately alternatives are not great, they all lack something vital. Biggest issue is too few creators. So using Grayjay connected to different other platforms can maybe cover some of the need.

  • Maybe not, but it would probably grow immensly. The exodus from discord is pretty significant, and matrix is mentioned again and again. It does not have to be that many more users in % from Discord to make matrix a lot more popular than it is today

  • I am so pissed that Element or any other Matrix app does not support push to talk OR a minimum noise gate. If it did it would clearly get tons of new users, it would be pretty much no question which plattform to replace discord with

  • Is this the first step towards using local LLMs for anonymity? 🫠 Always rephrasing each sentence somewhat. Truly dystopian stuff

  • Oof, ty for the info

  • Pretty sure the Village People are not the original crew. Also it would be surprising if it were, considering their participation at Trump inauguration.

  • This is Indiana Jones, something I watch purely for entertainment, its not very entertaining to watch him berate and belittle a overly hysterical depiction of a woman for a full length movie. It's not as if this is the pinnacle of human culture, its a movie series made for entertainment. If my goal is to get a glimpse into how culture was earlier, then sure, but that is not my goal when I watch Indiana Jones.

  • Yes, the sexism is so incredibly obvious. Probably the racism too, but I either did not notice too much or did not watch enough of it. I used to love those movies as a child
