I don’t think AI is the problem. It merely amplifies the delusional state that our global leadership in business and government is in.
It’s the Business Idiot and Rot Economy theory, and AI is just making it obvious to more people. “What if my CEO is actually an idiot? What if he’s just been lucky on some of the decisions he’s made and we forget about all the stupid stuff he does because it changes from month to month?”
The analytics people didn’t even know where these users were coming from. Of course, your javascript-based analytics package doesn’t see the users you are bouncing because of javascript failures.
The biggest problem initially is likely going to be finding rental shoes. Your wingspan is going to be an advantage. Climbing gyms are pretty nonjudgmental. They definitely have a community, but from what I’ve seen you can mostly just show up and climb and leave if that’s what you want. What sets them apart besides culture is setting, and it takes knowledge to recognize a bad or good setter. Typically in bouldering you don’t want to see the “hard part” at the top of the wall.
As someone who also lifts weights and climbs occasionally, just keep in mind that the price for failure is higher. Lifting weights you can just add a few reps and if you fail, no problem. If you fail 3m in the air, you hit the ground and could hurt yourself. If you’re bodyweight strong (good at pullups) you can also get yourself into situations you’re not technically ready for. But you’ll figure that out as you go.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos believes that artificial intelligence is going to lead to unprecedented productivity gains which could result in […] two income households deciding that they no longer need two incomes.
I’m massively oversimplifying, but if these reagents don’t work as advertised, it’s akin to building a vinegar-and-baking soda volcano, except the baking soda is actually sugar. Your experiment will fail, and you won’t understand why.
There’s a comment on HN indicating it may simply be cleanup for publishing (reduce the noise) but that doesn’t explain the copied blobs - and might be arguably false advertising.
The best part is that inference cost goes up with usage. Not like normal software where big effort pays off with every additional sale. Training doesn’t last long before it’s revisited.
