  • Hey stranger! I switched for the same reason from reddit to lemmy and while I can't help you with the porn problem... you may want to look into Linux Mint.

    There are very easy to understand guides online (e. g. on itsfoss.com you can find an installation guide, recommended first steps after installation, ...) and there are communities here on lemmy as well. So this may not be the same or a replacement for the communities you miss from reddit but maybe something new to focus on and a way to get in touch with other more or less chronical online people :)

  • That was still the event that triggered the current escalation. I don't get your problem here? People waited yesterday the whole day for the instance to be cleaned up while things became worse. That's why things are the way they currently are.

    Edit to add: I'm very confused why you not just added the info that things are solved now and the admin showed up instead of starting a fight.. so I'll stop answering now.

  • The moment I wrote the comment my all was still spammed with furry-trans-porn not marked as NSFW and a whole lot of threads from people being mad about what heppend there. So even if the problem is solved now. It wasn't just a few hours ago.

  • A person defining Nazis as evil lefts, hating on trans people and "wokeness" created several communities and posted in them.

    People reported the user, communities and posts but it seems the instance is abandoned (no reaction from their admin) and things are escalating now.

  • Oooh, we had one of those as well. He was a present from the shelter because he was mean to the other cats and they had not enough room to give him a private space. He was a big, grey meany unless he was on a blanket which turned him immediately into a small kitten kneading and suckling like there's no tomorrow.

    He also meowed whenever someone had to sneeze. My mother sneezes whenever she's done with eating so you can imagine the concert after every dinner :D

  • Mine is also toothless by now. You are correct, my vet told my they're using their upper denture / jaw to crush what needs to be crushed and swallow everything else.

    I was told to be careful with wet food and meat because this kind of stuff can't be crushed so it should be "bite sized" to allow her to swallow her food easily. But I don't know if this is a general thing or if this was related to an incident when my cat nearly suffocated from a piece of sausage she greedily swallowed without chewing... She's never been the sharpest tool in the shed, but we love her (⁠人⁠ ⁠•͈⁠ᴗ⁠•͈⁠)
