  • Most road bikers aren’t assholes, some are that give the rest a bad name.

As a mountain biker, those large E-bikes also sometimes rip up trails with monstrous torque and inexperienced riders who will do things like ride in muddy conditions.

Mountain bikers also get into arguments with atv, dirt bikers, horse riders, and gun enthusiasts

The atvs and dirt bikers rip up trails, horse riders get right of way and shit all over trails and gun enthusiasts sometimes shoot guns without a safe backdrop that involves bullets going through bike paths…

  • I could be mistaken but wasn’t the issue that when the rods were fully withdrawn the graphite was also partially withdrawn so when they scrammed the first thing that happened was an insertion of positive reactivity from the graphite which was enough positive reactivity to burn up all the xenon which then caused the reactor to go prompt critical?

Like the presence of the graphite wasn’t that bad but it combined with a lack of interlocks and improperly trained operators was the big problem and of course trying to start up at the peak of a xenon transient is never ideal

  • Well it can activate water itself and make F-18, H-3, and N-17 from just H20

  • Pu 239 which is the kind that we use the most since it’s the most fissile has a half-life of around 25k years and alpha decays so its very unlikely that it is heat from radioactivity. It may be heat from forging.

  • There is literally a law that prevented things like posting “this shutdown is caused by radical left democrats” on the banner of official governement websites

It has literally never been done before

You can make an argument for some amount of propaganda that lives in everything but nobody ever posted a picture of a bag of cocaine and used it to blame a previous president….

This is magnitudes above anything that was done before it’s like comparing casual trash talk to sucker punching

  • Using it to insert AI generated propaganda onto official government websites is a brand new thing that’s never been done before

  • I had not heard of candle power before but foot-candles always gets a chuckle out of me for ridiculous name

  • That is one of our problems but also we limited the amount of residency position to less than the number of med school graduates so even with the amount of people who finish expensive med school not all of them can get a residency

  • Mandates are authoritarian it is a governing body putting its authority on to you. It’s the literal definition here is a dictionary definition if it helps

It’s also authoritarian to mandate don’t commit murder or don’t steal.

This is a mandate from a governing body that strips away freedoms that previously existed. No idea where this idea of morality is coming from but it sounds like you might be mixing up fascism with authoritarianism. Fascism is an extreme form of authoritarianism with a heavy right wing influence as well.

I am not calling for a lack of uniforms

Socialism has a state which makes mandates upon those it has power over again text book authoritarianism but THAT DOESNT MEAN ITS BAD

I am not saying all authority is bad as it is needed but if you make a sliding scale of how much authority a governing body has and you take a neutral scenario like a school and you add a mandate that forces students to follow a specific dress code that’s a sliding of the scale to auth and away from anarchy

  • Socialism isn’t the opposite of authoritarian. It’s always authoritarian to mandate uniforms, it has benefits as you and others have outlined but you are stripping people of their individuality and mandating what people can do that’s classic authoritarianism

  • The point is that may people will instinctually call mushrooms a vegetable

If we take that same example and add 4 categories and then add milk as another item I am still willing to bet the average person will put mushrooms as a vegetable and make the categories fruit vegetable dairy meat even though vegetables aren’t real and you could have a category of animal products.

Now if you only quiz the biology majors you might get a different result but in the U.S. only 38% of people are college educated and the most common major is business

  • Did it actually help people understand it?

In my experience most laymen’s explanation involve knowledge of the word superposition but not any clarity on what it is and they treat the cat in the box as a real cat

Every once in a while someone seems to understand it but that seem mostly limited to people who had to take a class on quantum/ statistical mechanics

  • Apple, tomato, peppers, and cucumbers are all fruits

    Mushrooms are mushrooms

    Pork is meat

But if you give the average person those it’s much more likely they will make the categories fruits, vegetables, and meat and put mushrooms in the vegetable category

  • Thank you, schrödingers cat is one of those things that a bunch of people have heard of but it seems nobody actually understands

  • Take a piece of paper with 3 squares drawn on it

And hand a person a picture of an apple, tomato, pepper, cucumber, pork cutlet, and mushroom and ask them to put the pictures into the squares and then label each square

Average person will definitely label a box as vegetables and put the mushrooms in it

  • She killed multiple people, in what world dos that not deserve serious prison time?

    People are dead…

2 years per person killed of prison time and a permanently suspended license with the caveat that if she is ever caught driving again she gets 10 more years in prison

  • Adopted a cat that was a stray for 2 years and adoption center encouraged me to keep her as an indoor cat. As she has gotten older I have given her supervised outdoor time as in I am feet away from her at all times but for her first year she pretty happily lived in a studio apt without a balcony and whenever I had to bring her to the car she would get super panicked and nervous from being outside

  • But what’s the point in having an extra conversion? Like this would take extra effort and need to regularly be updated as the price of gold vs the local currency changes so there would have to be some advantage. Like having the price change over time is annoying but because your income and expenses are both tied to the same thing ideally it shouldn’t cause any thinking (it hasn’t because income hasn’t kept up with inflation)

  • Privately owned guns will hopefully lower the morale of the occupying force which is why they are already trying to get guns away from liberals. Specifically trans people by calling it a mental illness, and they have already laid the ground work by calling antifa a terrorist organization to take weapons from anyone “suspected of terrorist activity”, they can then do things like using palantir to figure out who owns a weapon and also purchased cannabis (and just happen to be liberal weird how the algorithm only seems to find them) and start offering people to surrender their weapons or be charged with a felony.

The idea that the army is going to just go to war with a city overnight is ridiculous but a slow campaign designed to dehumanize those against the party and in that process take their weapons is a very logical scenario that can easily make those guns useless
