  • I think you should keep physical media. I once bought a digital copy of a pretty obscure record from Google Play Music when you could still buy records from them, and eventually it changed to YouTube Music, and the record just vanished from my collection despite me having bought and paid for it. I've heard of other stories like this too. The companies just decide not to offer it anymore and it's gone.

  • I still have to live with my vicious manipulative abusive ex for now until I can safely escape financially/logistically, and while we are very much NOT together, that's not an appealing situation for a potential date and I get that. I would also not want someone to feel like they had to help me get out, or like I was monkey branching into a new relationship, which is what my ex had done to me, which I didn't find out for some time, because that felt really bad for me when I found out, and while I don't think my ex deserves any considerate behaviour after the way he's treated me, I wouldn't feel good about myself for doing it.

    It also feels really crappy to be middle aged and start all over with this, have to weed out the ones who aren't suitable, make an effort about the whole thing, and have to navigate a physical relationship with someone new, or find someone that shares my values.

    Also sneaking around my ex would be potentially explosive.

    Not going to lie though, having someone that makes me feel loved, tingly, excited, etc, and isn't a damnable monster would really be nice.

  • I don't watch porn anymore, wasn't much on it anyway, because I watched a video of a woman on Reddit whose husband constantly set up multiple gang bangs for her, which she claimed to love and posted photos and videos of, but I realized when I played on how detached and disconnected she looked from the whole process, and that likely she was being largely forced into it by her husband. At one point she moved the wrong way and the guy who was basically using her slid out, and she just said "oh sorry" as if she had accidentally stepped on his toe. It was just depressing.

  • It's so relaxing. Doesn't have to be religious in any way, just nice to get out and be somewhere peaceful and not have it cost anything. Everyone is so nice too, it's a very progressive church.

  • I know not everyone loves church, but my church has an open building day you can come and co-work or just read or sit and relax and chat or whatever, we put out good local coffee shop coffee and tea, and you can hang around as long as you want in an old building with beautiful stained glass windows and use the WiFi, etc. We were talking about how there's not really anywhere much else you can do that without spending money, you can sit in the library but it's not like you can heat up your leftover spaghetti and sit on a comfy couch. It's really a nice way to spend a day.
