  • The Rock is still a thing too

  • That's why you have lefsa with it. You can use it to patch any holes and it's stronger and tougher than steel.

  • Don't forget the flexi-snakes. So many flexi-snakes. Fidget toys still seem pretty popular after all these years too.

  • Lutefisk is delicious served with warm cream and melted butter.

***For those that do not know, lutefisk is cod that has been soaked in a lye bath to change the texture of the meat and help preserve it. It was a pretty common food in Scandinavian country's back in the day. And came with immigrants to Minnesota. Though it's not nearly as common as it used to be. Interestingly, Minnesota imports cod from places like Norway and then makes the lutefisk and then exports it back. And it's often sold and eaten around Christmas in parts of Minnesota.

  • Since I've been Windows free for several decades now, I will hard agree with you that running your favorite distro is the Waytm But I like I said, I'm under no illusions that my old hardware has a life span. Like me, someday it's going to die and not even running Arch can fix it. And if there are no old affordable parts or whole computers, what then?

  • That's the kind of bridge you need to plan on crossing long before you get there.

It's like driving a big truck. You get to the bridge and the sign says 5 ton(ne) weight limit and you're driving a 40 ton(ne) truck. And there is a line of cars behind you that stretches to the horizon. You can't turn around now. What are you going to do?

  • Old hardware is old. It will die eventually, and at some point there will be no more old hardware. Then what?

  • It happens. When I was a medic on a small rural service, I often passed by places that I worked at. You get used to it.

  • Look at the long game. Installing a Linux distro is great. But what happens when your GPU/CPU/SSD dies and you can't afford or buy replacements?

They got more time and can afford to wait us out.

  • Sigh, my wife just drove 40 miles round trip to get a jar of mayonnaise to make potato salad. We do have all the required items to make it at home.

And the worst part of it all-- The grocery store was out of real mayonnaise so she came home with Miracle Whip......

  • They were once Gods.....

Now they have been reduced to stupid cat videos.

  • I don't. If they can't read or spell, fuck 'em. I have no interest in talking to stupid people. Nor am I interested in stupid people that have no interest in continuing to learn and try new things. There are a surprising number of adults that refuse to do so.

  • Even that doesn't always work. There is one channel I know of that got auto banned despite using live shots of everyone doing live introductions of their stories.

  • As is tradition.

  • I'm impressed! I have never attempted to make home made mayo myself. I should try to do it before I die.

  • Expensive rubber bands, particularly when asparagus is out of season.

  • You speak Hun-glish? I knew a little old lady way back in the day that spoke Hun-glish. As a medic, it took several conversations before I could even begin to understand her spoken symptoms.

  • That's the allure for me. I can choose to buy what I can afford and then at a later date add other options myself as I want them or need them. But the range is an issue for me as a rural person where a trip to a clinic is 100 mile round trip. And if I need more, then it becomes a 200+ mile trip.

  • All BMWs need to be retrofitted with forced ads.
