  • But unless you understand the electrical components and the rules and codes in their use for consumer safety, maybe, just maybe, it should be a little bit difficult to gain access to if your 10 years old.

Go buy some bloody tools and quit your whinging.

  • If you are new to being a boomer, just remember that those youngsters will be standing in the same place you are now. It's inevitable.

Remember: This is about the long game.

  • That's the thing about repairing things at home or anywhere else. You need tools to do so and more than just a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. You often special tools. You can get a set of triangle bits for maybe 4 to 5 euros and you will have them for life. So don't be a cheap. Either fix that kettle yourself, pay someone with the skills and tools to fix it, or buy a new one. But don't whinge about not having tools.

And let's also be honest. Some things need to be tamper proof. Most of you ain't smart enough and experienced enough to play with things that can injure/kill you or others, no matter how many youtube videos you watch.

  • Because not everything can be repairable. Design and manufacture often require choices to be made. And you seldom get all of the things you want.

  • I don't think BMW drivers ever paid for that add-on.

  • Hah! No! I generally drive a 16 year old Jeep Patriot and a 15 year old Dodge Hemi when I need to pull my 24,000lbs tandem trailer.

  • BMW got turn signels? When did that happen?

  • Well, that's sad.

  • My wife has celiac, so eating out is not something we do very often. So it's been a few years since I've been in a KFC. I was unaware that popcorn chicken had ever been pulled from the menu.

  • Everything has its time in the sun. Just like many before. They get born, grow, mature, get old, and then finally die. It will happen here too. I've seen more than one forum go through the process.

  • It kind of makes sense. You are swimming the sea of misorganized random piles of files and folders you have created.

  • Just replying to let you know everything is fine. I'm hobbling around the house better and better. It's still putting a crimp in my style. I got string beans to pick!

  • I will have a matched pair of knees in just a couple of hours myself. Balance in all things as it should be.

    Heal well! Hernias suck.

  • While I do NOT condone what he did and tried to further his control, I do not think he was all that wrong about places like Lemmy often being a circle jerk of rage and hate. It's the nature of humans to fall into tribes and hate on others that they see as not thinking properly or differently. And places like reddit and lemmy encourage that behavior naturally.

  • I do have some time to celebrate this accomplishment today. So yes, I am ecstatic about it. I would be dancing even as I type, but I literally have knee surgery at 9:45 tomorrow morning. So it's going to be a few days before I can dance again.

  • Man, I got shop drawings of steam engines I know I will never build. The problem is I just like opening them up and looking at them. They are my precious.

  • You can't do too much and expect to be successful. Let's just start with þ to get everyone used to it. Remember, things like Þis can take 100 years or more to be permanent.

  • Þ is þe coolest

  • You can keep all the rest. I just want Þ (thorn). It represents þe "th" sound in English. Gimmie!!!!!
