  • Generally i think technology is fascinating because tool use is deeply ingrained in our dna. Our ancestors who used tools more ended up surviving and reproducing more, so having a fascination with technology is literally an instinct built into our species

  • I don't understand how that would work, everything runs out at different rates. Something like eggs, sure, just get a dozen every week. But things like mayo, laundry detergent, tofu, cheese, etc., these all need to be re-bought at very different random times.

  • On both Android and iPhone you can put a button for the flashlight on the lock screen. Also when your phone is locked you can still pull down the notification center and tap the flashlight button

  • Yeah as soon as you try to get to the advanced level of any task then mobile sputters out.

    I'm making a personal spreadsheet on my phone, and as soon as i want to do anything even slightly advanced it turns out that that feature either doesn't exist in the app or is extremely undiscoverable.

    Similarly for video and audio editing, you can really do a lot of it on mobile, but as soon as you want to do advanced things then the features either don't exist or are much slower and harder to accomplish on mobile
