I have opinions. Some of them are terrible. For this I am sorry.

Don't DM me without permission please

  • There's 99 other dogs in the room. The antisocial thing will be glued to my leg 😆

  • Wearing Google wiretap instead of putting it in your home isn't much better. Honestly it's probably worse.

  • You're confusing convection with conventional.

A convection oven is an oven with a fan to induce convection currents. A conventional oven is a hot box. Air fryers are ovens with fans in them to induce convection currents, ergo air fryers are convection ovens.

  • Microwave defrost function. Usually there is one for poultry and it will assign a time based on the weight you enter.

Every time it beeps mid cycle, dump the water from the plate and flip the meat.

This works for all frozen goods, but some veggies do not survive this process and get all mushy.

  • Whatever their intentions, they were massively influential and changed grunge forever and that's not something that should be understated

  • I had a Nexus 5 (also LG) and it was the best I'd had for years. Ran lineageOS on it (maybe it was CyanogenMod still I can't remember) but that thing was the shit.

I left it on top of my car once and ended up destroying it. Swapped the modem into an EU model (the modem and GPS module survived, all other components failed) and had basically a brand new phone afterwards.

  • I'm really hoping we figure out an alternative to monero that is less energy intensive though. It's bonkers inefficient compared to other coin to mine, super anonymous though, so trade offs

  • Anything you can do on a smartphone that would require Internet would also require Internet on a laptop no?

I suppose you could download offline installers to a thumb drive at the library or smth

  • Having read Kurt's journals, they wanted to be mid. They were capitalizing on the success of other bands and implementing their styles. They weren't trying to change the world, they just wanted to get paid to make decent music

  • Left to right:

    1. Eyeliner/False lash glue stencil
    2. Rhinestones for eyelash decoration
    3. Same as 1
    4. Fake high-quality (as in low quality designed to look high quality) sweater/pant combo
    5. I think these are some kind of facial serum, or health/mana potion minis. Either way do not consume, and probs don't spread it on your skin
    6. A hoodie
  • Not if your studio can afford the fees

  • Removed

    Name it!

    Jump
  • Predator's Peak

  • Selfhosting, as well as occasional LLM/GenAI model hosting for when I'm looking for inspiration in my artistic ventures.

Currently I do all this on a several generations old gaming rig and would very much like to have a dedicated server for it that I can put not in my living room

  • A server rack with a few A100s

    No it isn't crypto

  • Speed running the porn companies making their own payment processor

  • In my experience, persistent joint pain can be mitigated by working the muscles that pad that joint.

Consider doing some yoga or basic tai-chi that will stretch the region that is in pain. As you move through forms and poses you will figure out which muscle or muscle group needs to be strengthened and you will find movements that work it.

I've got some gnarly arthritis so my joints are always inflamed. Yoga helps me to keep the muscles strong enough to power through the inflammation without pain, though with arthritis it always hurts a little 🥲

  • A meme is a "self-propagating" unit of culture.

OP saw this and was compelled to share it. It's culturally relevant, as it speaks (perhaps satirically, perhaps seriously) about an aspect of human (more specifically: western online) culture.

It's a meme. I don't like it any more than you do but it IS definitionally a meme.

  • My primary storage use-case is physical media backups. I literally don't care how long it takes to store, a bluray is 70GB and I've got around 200 of em to backup.

  • Seems fine with a couple TB of SSDs to act as active storage with regular rsyncs back to the HDDs. This is fine.
