I have opinions. Some of them are terrible. For this I am sorry.

Don't DM me without permission please

  • "50 first dates" is such an anomoly. That's the first Adam Sandler film I ever saw and it was years before I realized why i was getting side-eyed saying I liked his movies. Click was ok too, clearly more for his usual audience though.

  • And for the same reasons folks got hooked on old reddit, folks get hooked on Lemmy (its me I'm folks please unplug me from the machine I can't log out)

  • I like freetube ¯(ツ)_/¯

  • This is true, but I try not to put such a heavy load on the TOR network personally. Its always good to have folks using it for clearweb stuff like this though, keeps the network legitimate.

  • I'm using PS/2 because USBHID requires a driver in the kernel and I don't have the RAM for that shit.

  • FreeTube is a FOSS youtube frontend.

FreeTube occasionally has issues on videos with preroll ads where the video fails to play because the ad won't be fetched. This can sometimes be mitigated by running an ipv6 rotator script and blocking freetubes access to ipv4. The one I run reassigns my ipv6 address once every 5 seconds to a new randomly generated valid address.

Sometimes even this doesn't block the ads (again causing the video to fail to play) in which case selecting the share icon from the freetube interface and clicking "open invidious link" will open a web browser pointed to whichever invidious instance is set to your default.

The freetube folks are working on implementing DASH, which should eliminate the need for these workarounds once successful.

  • FreeTube with an ipv6 rotator and Invidious will make sure you never have to deal with this.

  • I'm using a PS/2 keyboard and trackpad right now.

Adesso ACK-540-pw if anyone is interested.

  • I have 2 gigs of RAM my friend, all my browsing is done in Links or Offpunk, because i don't have the system specs for a modern style browser.

In other words, I need an old Search engine, not a new browser

  • Lite.duckduckgo.com is what I've been using, but the issue isn't the interface its the search results.

While anything more than basic HTML is gonna be a non-starter for my browsers, the actual issue here is quality of results.

  • Worth a shot for a free trial, thank you 🙏

  • Also I hope this isn't the wrong place, initially I was gonna ask the privacy comm over at db0 but that DEFINITELY felt like the wrong place after I'd typed up my whole post

  • Also have a 13 year old macbook air with LMDE, at some point they're basically useless without Linux.

  • Mushrooms, as long as its done slowly, can be cooked for extremely long times at extremely high temperatures as the spongy matrix that makes up the majority of their tissue is far more stable to heat than other protiens. They tend to go deep into maillard style caramelization type reactions instead of carbonizing as ling as you're not incinerating them rapidly.

Edit: autocorrupt "Fixed" a word for me

  • Thank you 🙏🙏

  • Can you explain that please? I just read the document and I don't see why this is true.

  • That's a white elephant gift.

If he's still around, maintenance on that thing isn't gonna be affordable
