  • I’m moving away from anyone that would be my neighbors now, and while I also plan to support the small local community I end up in, my friends are already a bit scattered around a 4-hour radius from my projected landing spot, and they all have people they love and trust, and I still want to support the dispersed community I care about now, as well as being part of an underground pipeline for people to safer spaces.

Being online isn’t ideal, but it may prove to be necessary to maintain inventory and needs for such an extended network. Idk shit about logistics.

I have a few interface points already established who will be delivery/distribution points for wider networks, but if others want to contribute their goods it will get prohibitively difficult for one person to manage

  • Music is important for some humans some of the time. It is not necessary for all humans at all times. So like you are wrong and stuff.

I like a lot of music, but I don’t want it most of the time because there are better sounds to listen to, like nature.

I won’t be responding to your pathetic trolling attempts from here on tho. You clearly don’t know shit about humans, despite claiming to be one.

Turns out we aren’t all the same and don’t all want the same dumb shit the lowest common denominator wants, like pop music. Some of us want peace and quiet even if we can understand and appreciate what about popular music makes it appealing to others.

  • I feel sad for you that you don’t see a possible rich existence without music..

One of us is lacking in life, but it certainly is not me.

  • Then you should try dysmantle, if you are at all into destroying your environment/surroundings!

You can break down everything, but it doesn’t replenish so like it gets kinda bleak if you destroy everything.. but by the time I finished the game I game up breaking the buildings cus I had all the materials I needed.

All the same it’s on an island so you don’t feel too bad.Various human-inhabited islands also has no trees so it’s just a thing.

  • It’s related to the main post, and not a flex, just a thing that happened.

Some of us legit dgaf about music.

  • My favorite game sound track is from dysmantle.

There’s no music in 99% of the game; only at campfires and cutscenes.

It took me 42 hours (out of roughly 100 to complete the game) to notice the lack of music, because I always turn music down to 50%, sound effects to 75%, and leave dialogue/voices at 100%.

Edit: this post has attracted a downvote troll! Yay! Please disregard downvotes on any post under the OOP, because some asshole needs a hobby :)

  • I live there and I had no idea 😅

  • I mean sure, but 20-something’s are dumb, as a rule. I was, you were, everyone is. That’s why the lower threshold for president is 35. When you are old enough to hopefully know better.

We should really have had at least one other metric, but apparently we didn’t.

  • Radio waves, tho..

The first mobile telephone was in the 40s using radio.. that’s plenty of time for more niche adaptations.. not saying they did happen, only that they could have. The battery pack or generator would be huge (which is why they were in cars).

But ring a number for a bum jingle, why not?

    #alternate technology

  • Others are just a huge wick and a fan, also known as swamp coolers. Aprilaire whole house humidifiers work this way. Those are quite effective as well, and no heat or steam.

  • That’s why I’m careful, but there have been times I’ve swung it too far when the adjustment slips, so.. very quick path from totally fine to felony.

  • I use a green laser pointer to sight my telescope..

I’m careful there’s no planes or anything but all the same.

  • This is far more entertaining than it has any right to be.

  • 9136 looks so excited to be in their presence. I wonder if that was intentional (starting the number with a 9, which, coupled with the eye, makes a left-facing face) or happenstance.

  • I used to do that, but I stopped because I’m trying to be less of a people-pleasing doormat in general. Plus people don’t like empty apologies from company reps anyway.. it often led to more hostility. Apologizing also tends to give to the impression that they are right to be pissy whiny assholes, which isn’t something that should be encouraged at all.

Instead, I started saying “I very much understand your frustration; let’s see what we can do to get this resolved for you.” This makes you and the customer (psychologically) a team against the problem, and they are less likely to go off on you.

I definitely stole that tactic from car salespeople. And it works super well.

  • Why?

I haven’t had whattaburger since like 2008, but I used to absolutely love it, especially the triple triple. That was a great betting burger.

  • I got pulled over in Missouri years ago.

2am, going like 95 on some highway or interstate or other. Hadn’t seen another car in hours, and had been driving since like 5pm.

Get pulled over, cop asks where I’m headed. “Houston.” “Missouri?” “Oh, I didn’t know there was one, neat, no the one in Texas.”

Give my license (Texas) and registration (Wisconsin), and explain I’ve just moved back to my home state, hence the interstate papers, and am headed down with a friend to get my belongings from storage. He goes and runs my info, and it’s clean all the way down, as this is the first time I’d ever been pulled over, or really interacted with cops.

He comes back to the car and as he’s approaching, I can hear an all-hands call on his radio. There’s a heavily intoxicated woman throwing up in a Waffle House parking lot. Cop gets to my door, says “it’s your lucky day, I have to respond to an important incident, so maybe have your passenger drive for a while..”

So just a verbal warning and a mildly entertaining super-rural story. 8/10 would drive again.

  • I’ve literally never had this problem in my nearly 40 years of life. 🤭

Room temp water gang represent! 🫠

  • Plot twist: it’s the same woman, and one pic is mirrored.
