  • People were able to watch funny videos long before tiktok. Tiktok is cancer.

  • I also vote for Skynet and the inevitable nuclear Armageddon.

May the atomic spark be struck, and spears of purifying nuclear flame rain from above.

  • We dont need more tiktok like sites.

We need to kill the ones that already exist.

    They are social cancer.

  • Why would they resort to violence after the brutal and crippling wrist slaps the J6ers got?

Surely that was enough to deter anyone from going into extreme fits of political violence!

    /s

  • There were plenty of free forum hosts back in the day. (edit: just did a search and there are still free forum hosts)

But then social media came out, and everyone got addicted to the gamified dopamine mechanics like upvotes and shit. So now everything has to have upvotes, or likes, or whatever other stupid bullshit shit that has absolutely ruined human interaction and discourse and is single handedly to blame for the extremity in modern discourse, because the need to drive clicks and upvotes leads to extreme polarization where no common sense, honest discussion can be held.

because you either 100% agree with me (upvote) or you are a baby killing bastard who disagrees with me (downvote), and there can be no middle ground! /s

  • Most people are stupid, myopic imbeciles that arent bothered by anything until it personally affects them.

Then they'll howl like wolves at the moon about the great injustice of it all, and how could anyone allow this to happen.

  • Dude. Seriously. Genuinely.

    Are you on drugs?

Or are you the victim of a mental derangement?

Because we need an explanation for this complete divorce from reality you seem to be suffering from.

  • ah yes, the google white knights. here to completely misconstrue the argument to make everyone but google the bad guy.

because thats what a trillion dollar company that threatens to seize control of the internet needs.

  • man from the child molester party wants windows in childrens bathrooms for totally not molester reasons.

  • Yes, and its a nasty story thats all unofficial cause no one is ever gonna go on the record, at least not for another 10-20 years when it comes out in someones book..

but the short of it is, Edge had its own browser engine, but google kept making changes to youtube and other google sites that broke Edges performance and made it run like dogshit, while leaving chromium based browsers alone.

after many instances of sabotage > microsoft workaround > google sabotage> microsoft workaround. Microsoft finally gave up and remade Edge as a chromium based browser.

  • why go after microsoft.

    Go after fucking google.

Chromium is the plague, not Edge.

  • Yeah, I've spent so much time smashing my head against the wall trying to resolve issues that would be very simple to solve on windows, largely cause windows is the native platform for a lot of this shit so its just inherently easier there.

The best example of that was setting up Stalker Anomaly. Good god was that a fucking nightmare. Cyberpunks not to fun either trying to get the mods set up.

  • Someone should analyze the app and see what permissions it needs, cause it could be a much bigger sticking point than anyone realizes if its spying on your phone activities.

  • They only had 4 on https://r2modman.com/

    edit

I dont say that argumentatively, to be clear. Just pointing out where I got my info

  • r2modman supports 4 games, 3 of which are relatively obscure.

  • It only supports Stardew Valley and Cyberpunk at the moment iirc.

Cyberpunk is a good one though, cause it requires running external .exe files for some of the mods to install/run. Which I hope they get working, cause thats also kind of a problem games Skyrim/Fallout/Starfield have, in that the most essential mod is Script Extender, and trying to find a way to launch it on linux that will launch the game.

  • I'm surprised you guys havent started the push of "If you are going to force us to have this app for essential day to day work, then you need to provide us with phones to put it on, because we can not be expected to devalue our personal devices with excess work related use"

  • Nah, they probably go to the same cross burnings. No way they'd do that to one of their own.
