  • I'm hopeful there may even be republican dissent for all the overstepping. I think there are still plenty of traditional, small government types who are looking out for number one by faking support while privately being under duress.

If that's true, it may embolden the equally cowardly dems to finally take appropriate action. One can hope, anyway.

  • When he's gone and we're working on plugging these exploits never used by more honorable men (I realize this includes Nixon, ugh), I think historians will begin to point out all the horrible shit. But they will say he did inadvertent good by exposing vulnerabilities in the government.

That's if things go well and a majority collectively learn in hindsight how fucked up things are.

  • According to Cheney, Eastman intends to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Not a lawyer, but I'd bet SCOTUS doesn't have jurisdiction over a state issued law license.

  • I went to high school with a psychopath. He was a friend of an idiot friend. He beat up a quiet kid on the bus once and later tried to steal my car. He disappeared for awhile, and I later learned he'd been locked up. I searched him on the internet a few months ago because I had a feeling he'd be in prison.

Yep. He raped a girl, beat up her boyfriend, and was being hunted down for burglary when the cops cornered him (I think on the rooftop of a 2-story house). Then he said some stupid line and backflipped off the roof.

After awhile in prison he managed to get hold of the tool the prison guards use to slide the food trays while the new guard was in the cell with him. He beat the guard to death with it, then acted casual about it. There's a video of the aftermath.

So he's on death row now, trying to play the Jesus card.

There's a shitty Amazon doc about him, name is Billy Tracy.

EDIT: When you mentioned knowing a truly evil person, that's what Billy is. I could see it in his eyes from the moment I met him, just a void. When I searched him up his parents weren't mentioned much, but what was there seemed to indicate they were as baffled as anyone about how he turned out. Maybe, who knows.

  • Did they even have signage up?

  • Sharks preceding trees is 🤯

  • This is all the better because we know he's seen it. And this is exactly the type of trolling he loves to dish out so much being thrown back in his face.

So not only could he have lost supporters over the slop, the reply slop is superior. It ridicules him with Epstein while highlighting what a farce his inner circle is.

He's probably simmering on it every time he stops focusing on further bungling things with Iran. I hope it's a contributing factor to some stress-induced condition that hurts like hell.

  • How is it smart? Honest question, because it strikes me as pissing off the countries that charter those ships as well as the oil companies (boo hoo, but they have pull with all their money).

  • Fuck sake, now he's threatening third-party vessels with his malevolent idiocy. This is a big misstep of an escalation, no?

  • 100%. People having their lives ruined without proof of guilt is unjust.

  • It's worth pointing out that there must be proof beyond allegations here, but so far that's all we have.

I don't know anything about Swalwell beyond that he's running for governor, possibly making him a smear target by his opponents.

If he's guilty then lock his ass up. But that takes proof. Makes me wonder what Ruben Gallego knows since he flipped from supporting Swalwell to pulling his endorsement over the past few days.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if imposing martial law led to a series of events that culminated in a civil war.

Unless someone with opportunity eliminated Trump from office by one means or another immediately after he sent the order. This would probably be the best path to avoid having the country rip itself apart.

  • Any major news outlet has a duty to report statements from sovereign nations engaged in war. Obviously.

It's important to keep perspective on what is right and what's normal, tiring as it is lately. We have to challenge this moron's tyranny at every little step, lest any of the insanity become normalized.

  • I'm glad it's being reported. But like so much of the news, nobody has any right to feel surprised since staffing the cabinet with loyalist yes-men leads to these types of consequences.

  • In practice your experience may vary. I went to pay at a Boots with a £20 Scottish note in England once, and the cashier was initially hesitant to accept it. Ultimately she did. That was the only time I tried it.

  • And if so it would be a real shame if any of that were to leak. I mean it would serve him right for removing such an obviously competent and loyal AG.

But that would be unconscionable. Right?
