It will have to be those with a strong commitment to community and preparation. Which will mean people with "faith" in the future they probably won't see.
So, that will exclude most of the narcissistic oligarchy. Though some are narcissistic enough about their own lineage to spawn a cult of personality for the continuation of their brood...
They will however continue to hoard resources enough to weather the more likely minor civil disturbances their actions are certain to cause. Wich is the real motive for some.
So, ever been to Utah? No saying they are fully prepared... But their mutant spawn may make it out to kill each other over the scraps if it's not a total wipe of life.
From my last 2 dogs, one could let me know a number of specific things based on context. (Including, the spin that means: I need you to open this specific gate, or I'm just going to jump it, and not come home for a day.)
The other one just had I need something NOW, and then various emotions (and being hungry was an emotion, and he had it all the time lol).
I essentially just did this as a total beginner and it worked. (I have built my own gaming PCs and took basic/Pascal programming in HS, but have no real network experience)
I had some old enterprise mini PCs, added a second NIC to one and put Opnscence and pihole VMs on it. I ended up doing PCI Passthrough for the new NIC for the Opnscence VM so the WAN/modem is isolated from the host. Bit a simple bridge works. The original management LAN NIC is just in bridge mode (so the host and VMs can share it).
I'm probably too new to be offering advice, so I'll just pile on the encouragement. You can do it!
We do need to better define these terms now that they actually affect our lives and not just games and books for nerds.
Entities with artificial minds in biological bodies are typically categorized as androids, bioroids, synths, or biological robots, depending on the franchise or context. I already see "reverse centaur" for AI driven human labor, bit that is not quite what we are talking about.
I remember the old game Star Control (1991) using a new word "Psytron" for the mode where AI controlled the strategic layer and a human controlled the ship (opposite of Cyborg mode, which did the opposite) so as a kid I used that for years without knowing they just made it up... I suspect the term "Psytron" is a portmanteau likely derived from "Psychic" or "Pilot" and "Electron," mirroring the "Cyborg" (Cybernetic Organism) naming convention.
A "ghost gun" is any gun without a serial number.
So you have to ban more than the 3D printer data files.
You will need to ban metal files as well. That's how real ghost guns are made.
