I hate the idea that watching ads or donating money to "support" creators. Youtube gets their content for free, why shouldn't I?
And it's not just content creators. Nobody shops anymore, they support business. Capitalism has camouflaged consumerism as political /social activism and it makes me sick!
The TOR project in it's entirety was created by the CIA for secure communications. It's public because no matter how secure, if only spies use TOR, then it would be easy to catch them.
I don't mean to imply that TOR is insecure, it's open source and the Government has an interest that it be secure. But if you're going to annoy the US government, you better have good opsec because they understand TOR better than anyone.
I saw a rando being interviewed at CPAC or something of the like and the dude said he liked what Ramaswamy had to say, but could never support him "because of 911".
For the curious: "War on Science" is a book of essays including Lawrence Kraus (whom "edits" the volume) and Richard Dawkins.
You might think that this book would be about RFKjr or the collapse of US funding for research. No. The 'war on science' is when academics are held accountable to woke ideology i.e. being disciplined for having sex with your students. It's publisher doesn't usually cover science, mostly selling books about fundamental Christianity.
For those of us who watched the brain-rot of Islamophobia and misogyny take over the skeptic community back in the early 2010s, it's no surprise that these men turned out to be grifters in bed with fundamentalist Christians over their shared hatred of Muslims and women.
There is so much more to the video. Including specifics about some of the essays and their authors; the Jeffery Epstein connection; and how feminism destroyed the "new atheist" movement.
Audiophile is a misnomer because what they love is the equipment, not the music. Technophile would be more apt. (and it could apply to the identical condition in 10,000 different hobbies).
The thing I love about Candace Owens is that she's one of the most talented right wing talking heads in the business. She's out-maneuvered most of these chuds into the antisemitic space that conservatism is headed. Leaving behind people like Shapiro who's trying to argue Zionism to Nazis.
And I just love it that people like Kirk, Knowles, and Pool are, even in the kingdom of white supremacy, out-competed by a black woman.
Every time I hear someone using slavery as a metaphor, I'm reminded that an overwhelming majority of people don't know jack shit about slavery.
I understand that it's just the click-bait title and not super related to the actual text of the blog, but that's my point. This trivial rhetorical device is insulting to everyone who suffered under chattel slavery.
If you're still not convinced, realize that saying Americans are slaves because they're stupid (spoiler for the article), you're implying that enslaved people were likewise stupid and probably responsible for their condition.
I haven't made hash browns since I learned how to make latkes, but it's still just a salt n pepper kinda situation. Some recipes say to cook hash browns in clarified butter. I imagine that's pretty flavorful too.
One tip I have for hash browns (or latkes) is to use a potato ricer to remove water from the shredded potatoes. This is easier, faster, and more effective than the dishtowel method.
IDK if it's relevant to you, but eggs can be poached ahead of time for quick assembly into the final dish.
Just under cook them by a minute or so and store them in ice water. Then just drop them in water the same temp as you poach to warm them through. I once served eggs Benedict to 8 people with only 15min of prep time and they thought I was a wizard.
Everybody picks on Freud for his crazy ideas. But when you consider the lunacy that his methods overthrew, he doesn't seem so crazy after all.
For example, before Freud many mental illnesses in women were diagnosed as "wandering womb", where the uterus was supposed to have migrated to different places in the body to escape a stinky vagina. Where the uterus moved to, explained the particular malty. Treatment was incense and perfumes for the vagina as to lure the uterus back into place. This was a standard in Western medicine from the time of the ancient Greeks.
