You might be overthinking. All I said is that people with poor taste also show poor judgement. So it's not surprising when someone who promotes blatantly bad art also gets caught doing fraud and sexual assault.
As for further examples of bad taste and poor judgment, we need look no further than what remains of the White House.
What is art? If you're like me, you might describe art as the study of choice. I like that descriptor because the choice to make as much money as possible with a minimum of talent and judgment, no matter how successful, will never have earned my respect. Each of us does that every day. I do not begrudge it, but creating tourism revenue adds nothing to the conversation of any artistic fields.
It's a size issue. If a groundswell of citizens in e.g. New Zealand wanted to overthrow their government, they could try. In the US, it would take insane numbers and a lot more logistical support than is generally realistic.
The reality is far more complex than a straight extrapolation of broad attitudes from an election. Elections have so many more situational factors (not to mention the effects of propaganda and corporate media, and a complicit duopoly limiting voter expression, suppressed turnout, etc).
If you want to know broad opinions, look at opinion polls, not to get too crazy but try it! ICE was citing some 2024 polls in support of their genocidal aims, but polls now show only 3 in 10 adults approve of ICE actions - and I personally assume those 3 include a not insignificant number of people who have avoided a frank look at the reality of what's happening and only get their updates from right wing media.
The actual number of Americans who support this evil with open eyes are probably much lower than 30-40%, if we're being at all charitable with our guesswork and interpretations. The scarier truth of that is how few true believers it takes for a committed propaganda campaign to subvert the will of the general populace.
They'd really love it if we could be dead and making money for them. They live in hope!
