  • 2112 is still a banger but it's hard to deny that for the most part, it's rock music that has been aggressively bled dry of all sexiness.

  • The scarcity you're talking about is cosmic in scale, and doesn't have a lot to do with the false scarcity people are talking about.

  • Social collapse isn't an exciting day in your life, it's a broad trend historians will puzzle over centuries later. Look at the bronze age collapse for an example.

  • Hell, I'll jump on that and seed even the stuff I don't like. I need to rebuild my overall 3:1 seed ratio after a streak of media grabs.

  • Mainstream Dems are little better than Republicans, they're all just dancing to the tune of Citizens United these days. Anyone that isn't is labelled a radical

  • That was the part of my answer I wasn't as happy with, admittedly. The way things are in the states make it really hard to see how you'd set up a politically independent, impartial yet informed, and corruption-resistant governing body for any kind of pot of public money. Especially a pot of money that would be clawed away from tyrannical billionaires who would have every reason to want to ratfuck the thing or get their money back.

  • There's no reason there couldn't be a national endowment for open source, the way there is (or was) for the arts. A non partisan governing body would direct and oversee funds towards projects for the creation, dissemination, promotion, and maintenance of open source software for the whole world. Funding could come from a big tech wealth tax, and governance could be drawn and elected by top maintainers as a bylaw. Just off the top of my head.

Obviously "reshape society completely" is a preferable option, I'm just daydreaming

  • Never gets old.

  • Thankew, yes. It has been very difficult and financially ruinous but no regrets.

  • Delightful, hilarious, and potentially even worth having!

  • I feel like if you're down with sexsomnia several times in a row, the allegations are exceedingly weak. Consent can always be revoked in the moment, but rarely post hoc.

  • Dick's deluxe will always have my heart. You can keep the rest. Always made fresh, always pretty cheap. And they pay their workers pretty good, which I'm convinced makes the burgers taste better.

  • People who don't pay taxes? Why would a billionaire want to disenfranchise billionaires? 🤔

  • That's pretty rough. When I was a teenager I had this happen once or twice. I was lucky that my partner at the time was into it. It's weird as fuck, you wake up confused and grumpy in the body of someone who takes sex way more seriously than you. A bad turn of events for all.

It also happened once when I was sleeping next to a friend. Apparently you're a bit stronger in your sleep. Poor fella... At least all he got was a firm snuggle.

I would hate to still have this happening just for how awkward it is, but it's also a massive consent issue. Oddly in both directions. Would immediately get separate beds if it had ever happened in the last twenty years.

  • Fuentes is a fucking nazi, all this interview does is tell me Hunter Biden isn't just irrelevant, he's an idiot too.

  • I only download stuff from there that I'm highly motivated to read because I feel bad for wasting the bandwidth otherwise
