"AI" is a tool to move towards labor post scarcity. That's all that it is. Billionaires using and owning AI is the problem. Billionaires scamming people with AI related buzzwords is the problem. BILLIONAIRES are the problem. Not AI.
Is nuclear tech a problem? No. It can be used for electricity generation. It can also be used to make bombs. The tech in itself is not a problem.
Sadly, most people on the left have taken the stance of blind opposition, without engaging in good faith arguments, without even attempting to understand the technology. These folks have opinions that range from:
AI is not actually "intelligence", where they try to show how it has 0 uses anywhere. These opinions are blatantly dissociated from reality, as professionals do indeed use AI to delegate a lot of tasks.
"AI will take our jobs, creating a permanent underclass". This is assuming that all of us live under authoritarianism. This is mostly Americans spreading their doomerism. Still a valid critique, though one that often incorrectly assumes that this new underclass will not riot and cause change through violence.
AI damages the environment: True, but some additional context is required. The oil industry, the transportation industry and so on causes much much more environmental damage. Coming up with valid, constructive solutions to regulate the tech industry's emissions makes sense. However, calling for total bans and moratoriums for development and research in AI is so so dumb.
Anywho, this comment is likely going to invite a lot of trolls. I won't engage with anyone not arguing in good faith.
Getting something as close to stock android as possible is a good idea. The further something goes away from stock android, the more I personally hate it.
Don't be an idiot. Do your research before making a big purchase. There is no such thing as Android vs iOS. There's Samsung vs Motorola vs Xiaomi vs Apple and so on.
Brands to avoid in my opinion:
Samsung. So much bloat on their phones ugh. I don't like one ui (their android skin). Also, as someone mentioned, they're the Applest of non Apple brands.
Xiaomi. Same problems that Samsung has, except their UI is eeeeven shitter. The cluttered ui (which seems to be quite present in Asian origin software) gives me a headache.
Now I don't want to endorse any given brand cuz fuck corporations. BUT, if you're looking for Android, I'd recommend going for brands with stock/almost stock android on their phones.
Don't fall in the "Xiaomi just has better hardware" trap. It is true that Xiaomi tends to pack their phones with more capable hardware. BUT holy moly is their software so so so bad. If your phone isn't your main computational device, then "not the best hardware for the price" is not going to hurt, trust me.
IF you want to flash custom ROMs then Xiaomi phones could be a good deal. But again, you're kinda inviting some headache. If you unlock the bootloader, you void warranty and all that. I used to do that when I had a Xiaomi device. But couldn't keep up and just got a stock android device when the Xiaomi one broke down.
In my opinion, Musk is so worthless, that he doesn't deserve any sort of monument or anything of that sort. I've known so many losers! Do they get a monument? Naaah, they're just the butt of gossip and that's the end of it.
I know Musk is more damaging, but stuff like this is excessively ineffective at changing anything.

BUT, using a completely different scale for description is annoying (at least for me). It's like some describing different music compositions as "loud". Sure, a non musician isn't expected to know the individual notes and stuff, but you know... noone would describe Duel of the fates as "loud" lmao.
what people define as "chocolate" is majority sugar and milk. Hence, real chocolate for them is "bitter, not sweet chocolate. The same goes with coffee. Most people's definition of "coffee" is just this stale, super sweet, paper tasting drink.
A light roast will taste more acidic (sour, less bitter) compared to a dark roast. Strength is not about taste, but about concentration. Consider it like music.
Let's say there are two types of notes: deeper, lower pitched notes and higher pitched notes.
Light roast: more higher pitched notes, less lower pitched notes
Dark roast: more lower pitched notes, less higher pitched notes.
Now imagine describing dark roasts as "louder". It doesn't make sense, right?
I get annoyed when people describe the taste and flavor of coffee as "strong".
"Strong" is just the concentration of coffee particles in water. An espresso is stronger than an Americano for instance.
Coffee tastes bitter, sour and maybe a little sweet. The flavors can be quite complex involving fruit, nuts, spices and such. Don't just say "sTrOnG" like an oonga boonga caveman.
