    Currently I have Ulefone Armor 24, but I'd want something like Oukitel WP100 Titan. Even larger and crazier.

    Almost brick size now. It's so ridiculous I want it. After all, what I have now isn't far from if, it's just that this is even bigger.

    3.6cm (1.4 inch) thick, 877g (1.93lbs) heavy.

    But somehow it still can't fit a headphone jack and MicroSD card slot, so that's a no for me.

    Strongest emotional bonds don't necessarily mean anything positive. Most time spent only applies to immediate family, like parents. Outside that you likely do spend more time with coworkers or classmates.

    It's just that people decided that due to blood relation and marriages a certain set of people should not only know each other, but like each other and put up with each other's bullshit for far longer than for other groups like friends.

    Meanwhile these relations are no different from being coworkers.

    Similarly, lacking this blood relation doesn't matter aside from family anamnesis (and perhaps organ/bone marrow transplants), in case of adoptions.I don't understand why people go through so much struggle for their kids to be "their own" while there's many waiting and hoping to get adopted. People don't think anything special about adopting a cat or dog, after all, there is no other way, and yet they'll fully love their pet. But suddenly when it's small humans, which is even the same specie, it matters a lot.

    I don't understand if people really feel something towards having really similar DNA, but I don't see any logic in it.

  • Rather pentobarbital or secobarbital. As far as I know these are used for euthanasia (15g) and should be pretty nice (you fall asleep and die unconscious). However, they are apparently quite bitter.

    Although... ice cream. You probably don't eat that in one go like a glass of water, so the dose may not be high enough before you fall asleep. Secobarbital was used to treat insomnia in the past, by the way.

  • Prefer, overall Lemmy, but probably not by as far as others here.

    I like the large user base of Reddit. There's more or less everything and anyone (fields/groups). You could search for something on the internet and limit yourself to Reddit to get higher quality results. Lots of users for lots of years.

    On the other hand, Lemmy feels more or less just like one subreddit. You can come here, talk about Linux, programming and privacy even in most unrelated communities and people will just catch on no-problem. But outside that, it's quite empty.

    That's users. Technology I have issues with on both sides.

    Centralized media can get huge and stable, but also enshittify and shut down at once. However, there is no decision making in server picking, and all content is just there, immediately available in one place.

    Lemmy has issues. Federation is interesting, but doesn't work as I'd like. One instance shuts down, yes, the content remains scattered around other instances, but not all of it on each instance, it won't federate anymore between the remaining ones, and as instances keep shutting down and popping up, it eventually dissapears.What I'd hope for is torrent like copying. New instance joins in and begins synchronizing from all other instances to load balance between them. Once that's done it fully comes online and synchronizes new content on the go.

    But that also has issues. It doesn't scale. Maybe the data could be split between the instances with some redundancy, but I am not sure how to do that well, and how should it be retrieved on demand quickly and efficiently.Plus, how to make sure the data still remains the same. I don't mean at the time of instance death, but before. Let's say boykisser.webp is stored on ServerID69 and ServerID420. ServerID420 dies and ServerID80085 decides to keep redundancy and copy it from ServerID69, but the expected hash doesn't match and the image is now gone. This could probably be solved in larger network by just having far more copies, and I just invalidated that like how one person doesn't kill a torrent.

    But that's not how it works. Not even the list of instances and communities is federated like that. Best bet to find communities is going to lemmy.world and searching for it there. And with federation bots, we get back to low scalability.

    So, I probably wouldn't have much time to think of anything actually good, so most likely something like "🎶 Fuck this shit I am out 🎶" or "I used Arch Linux, by the way".Honestly, I like the Arch joke. Past tense. I am dead. If I were to have a tombstone, I'd want this on it, but my opinion on graveyards and funerals is... probably not the usual. I'd want my body to be of most use. Take organs, use it for science, compost it, feed it to animals, whatever reduces the amount of waste it will be, and that's it. Don't spend any money, space and effort on my corpse.

    My separate debit card and transport card won't discharge or just stop working as likely as a phone. It also won't be suddenly affected by bugs, nor will it get slower. Nor do I get Google also tracking every single payment as well.

    The only disadvantage is compatibility. So many things, and now even some shops use contactless-only terminals, while I got contactless or magnetic payments blocked. Only chip + PIN.But anyway, the shop that had to downgrade to contactless only due to increased fees on regular old terminal also started asking people to pay in cash instead, again, due to the fees.

  • There's an internal dialogue, usually. Might even basically be a copy of someone else. That's most of my conversations anyway. I am pretty social, it just doesn't extend far outside my mind. I often re-use bits from these imagined conversations when actually talking with those people, but that usually doesn't work out.One on one conversations are ok-ish, but 3 or more people, are just a mess. Often I get no response. Either I wasn't heard, or I talked at the wrong time, or whatever else. I'll wait for minutes for the right moment to say something, and it's still badly timed, or the conversation has moved on.

    But anyway, I can have fairly rich conversations, even with multiple people inside my mind.Also, my thinking works better when walking.

    Imagined sounds, especially music can be enriched with light tapping of teeth, sucking around saliva and rumbling from tensor tympani.

    Notify my employer that I won't show up, go to doctor and wait in the waiting room. When the nurse shows up, give her the insurance card and wait for your turn. They'll check you, and if it's nothing special (requiring a specialist), you'll probably get prescription for some meds to pick up.Then you get those in a pharmacy. Either it's electronic, or if the system is once again broken, you hand them the Rx paper that the Dr. gives you in that case. And then you figure out what you're about to pay. A lot of things will be fully covered by insurance, but potentially you'll have to copay. There's also a chance the Dr. tells you to get something that isn't covered, like some specific eyedrops, cough meds, probiotics (if you have antibiotics for example), etc.

    The pharmacist may recommend a cheaper alternative, will likely tell you recommended dosage, tell you that once again this specific Dr. prescribed something that hasn't been manufactured for the past 30 years, and in the rare case, tell you the prescription seems dangerous and to contact the Dr.And also decrypt any handwriting/encoding.
