  • I was permabanned from Reddit for making fun of AI in a lighthearted manner. They wouldn't reverse the decision after I complained. It was a dull response, too, like they didn't even try to look into it; instead, I broke a rule for "inciting violence" when nothing I said was even violent in nature. ¯(ツ)/¯

    10+ years gone and over 160k karma so it's not like I was a noob or troll. I moderated 4 or 5 subreddits myself too, and was a top contributor to many tech subs...

  • Fun fact: I have my device in airplane mode 90% of the time and only use WiFi. My device ID/name is "Unknown device" specifically so it looks like random or no good. I also use randomized Mac addresses.

    I'm free of xfinity/Comcast, but for anyone else I know who uses it, I freely offer my professional IT tips to change DNS, recommend modem/gateway, etc.

  • Google family link is for parents to have oversight on youth's phones. I have that set up for both my kids, and any unwanted apps that are downloaded I block. You can also set screen time limits for health use.

    I take it you're a kid and your parents are threatening to lock down your phone or something? Good, you don't know what's good for you, but parents do. Maybe listen to them. They want what's best for you!

  • Paper route summer after 5th grade (maybe 10-11yo). By freshman yr highschool, I had 4-5 routes totaling 270+ papers and would inline skate the routes to save time. Sundays were a bitch to say the least. But when I went "collecting" it was awesome getting paid and keeping a lot of that money! I went through so many wheels, bearings, and laces, and kept upgrading skates too. Been working 1-2 jobs ever since pretty much. I'm hitting 40 soon.

  • I'm on Lineage OS and it's pretty good minus I can't fully utilize my cameras as much, but it functions.

    I love having 4-5 day battery life though. I charged up Sunday and am at 68%still, no lie! Not having Google everything run in the background is awesome!
