  • I don't really use the web interface; I pretty much exclusively browse through Blorp and, previously, Connect. However, from what another user told me, it's not supported on at least the default web front end. My condolences!

    If you decide to switch to mobile, on Blorp you do it from the user profile; in Connect you can do it directly from any comment a user made. I imagine many other clients are similar.

    If you do go that route, note that tags are entirely client side. Connect supports exporting your tags (and other settings) but only to other Connect installations (like if you switched phones or something). AFAIK Blorp does not have an export function. I cannot speak for other clients.

  • At a previous IT job, the department had been around quite a while. User accounts didn't provide a start date - at least not one that I could see - but there were ways you could estimate the general length of time the user had been with the department.

    A few times, some aspect of those ways would cause a configuration or processing issue. For a while I was the only person handling ... That department. Almost universally, after I fixed and explained the problem, the people having these difficulties would, mostly jokingly, complain about being old. I would say "you're just a legacy user!" (or similar things) It almost always made them laugh.

    So - I wouldn't call you old. You're a legacy and I appreciate your tenure!

  • I never watched more than a few episodes of Frasier, but I remember a commercial for an episode of it - one I unsuccessfully tried to find online just now. I shall paraphrase:

    Niles(?): "What perfume is that?"

    Unknown woman: "It's 'Obsession.'"

  • I usually remember to fold over the edge, but I don't tape many things, so usually by the next time I try to use it it's been ruined in some way.

    I've had good luck with tape dispensers. I know one might think of them as mostly for scotch tape (I know I used to) but, scaled up effectively, they're great.

    I haven't tried them for duct tape, but i imagine its gluiness would interfere with functionality.

  • Once when I was a kid, I was an avid, if not particularly talented or intelligent, bike rider. During that timeframe, I saw some professional bike riders; I think they were racing, but I might be misremembering. The point is, I observed that many or all of them had their elbows on the handlebars. I did not notice that their bikes were designed to support this.

    As such, the next time I went riding, I figured "hey, the pros probably know stuff I don't. I'll try their methods!" then placed my elbows on the handles.

    I had just about long enough to think "now, how do I steer ... " before I crashed.
