  • I use a Sony NWZ A15 which is an older player so can probably be had for not much money. Headphone jack and micro SD card.

If your car is newer with one of those integrated head units then you can get a 3.5mm Bluetooth sender for hardly any money.

  • I'm so glad my work works on the basis of as long as you do your 8 hours a day, come in when you like (to a point as unfortunately it isn't a 24 hour business. So when I wake up at 4 I just go to work knowing that I'll get there at half 4 meaning I finish at half 12 and have the whole afternoon to do things I actually want to do!

  • I don't know if I am the best person to ask as I am not really a "power user" or anything. It sends and receives emails and isnt google which is all I really need, I can't really talk about any features it may or may not have that people might look for.

I like that I can make up to 10 different address from within that same account, send emails from any of those accounts from just a drop down box without logging in and out of different accounts.

I like that they give me credit to my account based in how much space I actually use in my inbox.

I recently upgraded to an "ultimate" type account which covers all their products for me and my gf to try and encourage her to move away from google. The way the drive works is a bit counter intuitive in my opinion and the password manager thing seems to work well across both windows and android but I've never used a password manager programme before so it could be dogshit in comparison to others, but it seems to work well for me.

Never tried the VPN as I pay for AirVPN.

Sorry, not very insightful for you in terms or details but I like it a lot and it all works well for me, I've never had issues with any of the apps or logging in and accessing my stuff. The primary thing for me was moving away from google.

  • Me either but seen as they couldn't be fucked to put it in the title of the post I skimmed the article to find out.

  • I joined gmail in beta so similarly had had my address for an absurd amount of years.

Last year I completely switched over to proton for everything and keep my gmail as a junk account for shit I want to sign up for but don't want to dirty my main with.

It was a daunting feeling undertaking at first but honestly it took me a couple of hours to go through and change the email on things I actually use and want to keep.

It was a nice freeing feeling and really helped me weed out what accounts I truly use and want to keep. I would highly recommend it as a cleansing exercise as much as anything else!

  • Stuff like toothpaste is way too coarse for things like this. It isn't something I have tried as I don't wear glasses but have you considered trying something like a rubbing compound used during paintwork on cars etc?

It is basically a fine grade liquid sandpaper and is used to buff up the final laquer coat to a good shine.

Pretty sure you can get different grit levels and may require some elbow grease but may be an option worth looking at?

  • I dunno if it would be classed as obscure any more seen as it now has over 2m plays, but when I first heard it 4 years ago it was for sure obscure.

  • Jeez everyone carries a lot of shit in their pockets.

I carry my bank card in a side pocket down by my right knee and occasionally keys in the front left pocket.

  • Ah I see you are from the UK too. Lots of other countries seem to grasp this concept a lot better. The UK seems unable to walk on the fucking left. If everyone walked on the left then no one has an issue.

The amount of people stubbornly walking towards me on the right hand side of the path whilst I stick to my guns on the left pisses me right off!

Bonus points for groups of people that are so far up their own arse they feel the need to walk abreast taking up the entire path. Fuck all of you!

    deep cleansing breath

  • In a car, no not really, that is going to make everything in your life a lot harder and less comfortable. I feel like a car would be a last resort, I have no other options, kind of thing.

I lived in a van for just over 2 years though and honestly I miss it. I don't just miss the extra money I had from not paying rent but I also miss being able to stay where ever I wanted and waking up next to the beach or in a forest.
