  • There's still plenty of movies available right now. People are just watching the shows more and so that's what you hear about more.

  • Yeah absolutely agree. I always but hydroflask bottles, but never through hydroflask. The exact same bottles and exact same lids are sold under a rolling list of random Chinese companies like this. Usually these companies do have real names, they're just super Chinese and not worth properly localizing.

Hell, I recently got a new fancy video monopod. The official US name brand that sells it is harlowe. It sells for about a grand

I bought this exact same model from "yc onion" with a nonsensical name the "pineta pro" (said "pine-tah") for less than half that.

I literally brought mine into a store after realizing how similar they are and compared them side by side. Even the stamp and sticker placement is identical. Like they clearly come from the exact same factory just with a different color and a different name printed into the same box on the side.

Why the fuck would anyone pay the 60% price hike just to have a known US company sell it to you? The really shitty thing is that I'm not sure how b and h is allowed to sell it. When I talked to my local camera store they said that they weren't allowed to sell it because they were a brand partner to the US brand and couldn't sell non us products without getting fined or dropped by their suppliers. Maybe b and h is just big enough to not have to care anymore, but that's just going to be one more nail in the already dying camera store market.

  • Well yeah, they could crank out a whole episode in like a day back then. These days people expect every episode to have the quality of Hollywood movie.

The nature of tv has changed. The gap between tv and movie has largely closed. People lament that we are moving away from traditional Hollywood movies, but I'd argue that we're more moving away from traditional television with premium tv now taking the place of movies in many ways.

It's not that people like stories less, they just seem to prefer a series of 1 hour movies told in 8 parts over a single 90 minute plotline.

Television used to be sooooo much different than Hollywood. There used to be almost no overlap in skills or technique. I used to work in TV, and what I used to do just isn't done anymore. The closest thing out there now to old tv is Saturday night live. They still kinda do it in that style.

  • While continuing to thrust harder.

  • I mean, with it they've managed to build a walled garden that includes the majority of every phone in the world.

    We can probably assume trillions.

  • Yeah? Hold your hands above your heart for 5 minutes then tell me why this bag is a problem.

The blood that goes to your feet also must go down first. Gravity is still helping it along.

  • 100% it's all in the emphasis. It's subtle, but just different enough that you can tell if someone is from the area based on their pronunciation.

  • Oh God,I had an ex from Georgia that would hit me with these. Let's go with "verse-ay-lees".

  • But you forgot, we also have to mispronounce it then get mad if you don't mispronounce it the right way.

-someone that was born in New berlin, not "new berLIN", But "new BURlin".

  • Oh no, that's what salaries are for. That way they pay them for 8 hours of work still.

This should be celebrated though, because they get to go home early if all the work gets done.*

.*The work is done when the billionaire has enough ** money.

**Enough is defined as every particle of matter being converted into wealth for the god emperor formally known as billionaire.

  • Does that stop them from destroying the environment? These people are built on hubris.

  • Why would they get payed that much? this is unskilled labor, they get minimum wage.

That, or they hire an undocumented immigrant for even less. Extra bonus because they can't read the sign that explains the killing thing.

  • Replied to the wrong comment

  • sure, it won't help them recruit, but it will help them hold their existing members. when they have evidence of the "persecution" they face it makes it easier for them to discredit the negative info online.

i know for certain that this is at least the Mormon playbook.

  • i guess I'm my mind "quite good" is better than "good"

like "quite" is a synonym to "very" in this context as I understand it. maybe to a lesser degree, but it's certainly a positive modifier. i would use a similar scale if those two were swapped.

maybe that's just my dumb american vocab or something, but i would be very confused by that scale as it stands.

  • i mean, on that scale a 6/10 is barely above average. I'm still looking at you funny foot calling that "quite good"

  • nah, it's mostly the artists and writers in my life. myself included. the seo sloppers adopted ai fast because they had no love for what they did anyway. they're the same sloppers.

  • there's laws about terrorists without that being defined. they'll manage without one.
